Hi,

Ive been offered a dreambox 800hd cheap and wondered if they are worth having and are they easy to setup?

Check if it's genuine or a clone, and they require a lot of work if you haven't used a linux based receiver before, read the sticky threads in the dreambox section.

Im told it was bought of the owners site - he tried to set it up for a week or so and has now lost interest, Not sure now if its worth it!

But thanks anyway!

It's definitely worth it providing you're willing to put in the time, and effort, to learn how to use it. The Dreambox is a good satellite receiver, once properly set up, and can do a lot more than a normal receiver.
Have a read through the Dreambox section and see what other owners think of this receiver.
