Bit of heavy rain and a few rumbles of thunderbangers just now, rain's still raining, but the thunder's wandered off...

..Hope you've enjoyed yourselves baking in the Sun ..
If you saw it today that is ..
certainly we did not ..
cloud for most of the day ...which grew darker and thicker as time went on ..
'tis now black out there ...with stair-rod rain ..and lightning ......
I just hope my gear survives as I'm too unwell to batten it down or disconnect it .
No longer just a North South divide ..but East West as well it seems..
Summer was shyte ...and Autumn came early ...
grrr
Same here in Uttoxeter, saw about 30 mins so sun this morning, the rest of the day was gloomy to say the least!

It's still light here.

The Whippets were duly instructed to nip into town and collect us Fish and Chips and we have just eaten them with Mushy Peas, Bread and Butter.

{ The Fish and Chips, not the Whippets}

Well, I'm afraid to disappoint you grumbling gentlemen, but here in DK it is now the third day of 25+, not a cloud in sight, and light winds.
Some people are still going to the beach, as the water is still just under 20 degrees.
Tuesday was the warmest September day in 70 yerars here.
This condition will continue thursday and friday.

Hope to finish the painting of the outhouse (need to wear hat against the sun, though) tomorrow.
Then even possibly fiddle with a dish or two.

AND, re the topic of this thread: We barbecued properly yesterday (Ie tableside straigjht-from-grill-to-plate), and will do so tomorrow too.

Have to admit, this is EXTREMELY unusual for mid-september.
We usually have yellowing leaves, 15-8 degress, and only some warm sunshine in sheltered places.
But as we had no real summer expect for about a fortnight in may, the condition is very welcome.
It is however bound to end in a week or so, then it's probably back to drizzle drizzle... :(

Not all of us are grumbling!

It was yet another superb day here in the Republic. Slightly cooler than yesterday, and not at all humid, with wall to wall sunshine.

I did some repointing and other concrete repairs.

Looks like an adapted Rotavator .... so can you fit tools to plough small areas of land in Summer?

Another wonderful day in prospect .... sun shining brightly through the early morning mist, providing ethereal views over the Vale of Mowbray.

Steady rain here...unfortunately the only ethereal view we have is of the huge heap of manure in the field opposite...

Although still in the ME I was just looking out of interest when I heard the reports of Manchester flooding and found my security camera caught a cracking photo,

My 12 year old red snow thrower was beyond repair, the bucket and the auger were riddled with rust, the motor and wheel section are fine, so removed the rusted parts and will adapt the motor/wheel section to a self propelled barrow next year for garden work.

Well thats the plan!
