Try 20E - Ive had strong signals off the Mauretanian C-band mux with a woefully badly set up lnb on a 1m dish.

You could post the alleged non-working LNB to somebody here to check out

yes - indeed -
i would be happy to test the LNB if you wish - they are quite lightweight, postage should not be much .

cheers .

edit --
have you tried the LNB in the centre focus position , and removed the diseqc switch from the setup - to eliminate any positioning - and /or switch/cable issues.

I have resumed trying to get some results, and it seems that the LNB is not faulty and I need to be a tad more patience.

hi -
glad your l.n.b. is ok -- let us know how you get on - it can take "some time" to get everything fine tuned .
regards - nelson.b.

Having established that the LNB is not faulty I mounted same to the side of the existing as shown elsewhere on the forum. With the dielectric plate inserted in the different positions and slowly turning the LNB full circle and then again without the plate. The LNB was also slowly moved slowly to and from the dish as well as adjusting the angle pointing at the dish, all this and not a flicker on the level bar pointing 5W. The weather is fine and is heading to the fridge to get a chilly philly.

cheers macx.

hi -
if the l.n.b. is ok -- ( how did you test it ?) --- i,m puzzled why you are not getting a result - you seem to be doing everything right ??

did you try the LNB in the centre focus position , and removed the diseqc switch from the setup - to eliminate any positioning - and /or switch/cable issues.

have you tried other sats ?
as analoguesat mentioned the c band Mauretanian channels at 20 east are strong .
also the libyan channels at 3 east they are very strong and can easily be picked up with a 1 metre dish

cheers -- keep trying -- as i say i,m puzzled
