Thought I'd update everyone with the nonsense that came back from the council ... Although I agree I could mount a dish outthe back .. my friend ( a bit of an expert but sadly lives 7-8hrs away ) recons I won't get the elevation to get a signal round the back ..
Mounting on the side of the building , considering I'm on the right hand side would be touch and go as to whether I'd see 28E ...
I'm pretty miffed considering almost every house on my sidehas a s*y dish on the front .....
I'm still considering the Sweety but @ £150 I need to think a bit more .. a lot of money for a dish ..

I can advise that the alignment for Freesat reception is the same as that
for Sky - that is, 28.2 degrees east of south, because the signal comes
from the Astra 2 group of satellites.
Having checked your address, it appears that your property is a four in a
block flat on the right hand side of the building. This would mean that a
dish would have to be mounted on the side or roof of the building.
Mounting a dish on the front of the building would be another option, but
not one that the Council would be in favour of since it would be visually
prominent within the street.
You should also note that it is feasible to get satellite reception from a
pole mounted dish in your back garden. This does not have to be high up,
as long as you can get line of sight to the satellite. A cable can be run
underground in a conduit, if necessary, between the dish and the dwelling.
In summary, planning permission would be required if you wanted to erect a
dish on the front of the building. However, there are several other
options available. Given that these other options exist, there should be
no reason to have a dish on the front of the building where it would be in
public view.
I trust that the above information is of assistance.
