Yes I tried a RTL on line and it was not working for me at least, plus tried another dodgy on-line one using my laptop as I could not face getting out of my bed neither were working. I listened instead on 5 live however drifted off only to be awakened by the frantic swapping of places in the last 30 seconds O-zzz

For the second year running there are only 22 starters tomorrow - the desperately slow HRT's were outside the 107% target time in Q1 and have been excluded from the Aussie starting grid. Again.

The thing is, they are hardly one of the "new Teams" any more .............. no excuses at all. I feel they should be excluded full stop, with another Team given an opportunity.

It does rather remind me of Minardi who were perennially placed at the rear. Eventually they were bought up by Red Bull and turned into Torro Rosso. But in todays financial climate I can't see the same thing happening. Offhand I can't recall another team waiting in the wings to take their place.....

Dave Richards has been trying to get a look in for years!

Obviously it couldn't be done mid-Season, but shirley there must be some minimum performance standards to secure year-on-year entry? And if not met, a reserve Team given a few months notice to get geared up for the following Season.

It's just an embarrassment to the Sport to allow HRT to take part.

Had totally forgotten about him!!! I didn't realise he was chairman of Aston Martin as well. He was refused entry to the 2010 season, preference being given to three Cosworth powered teams, despite Richards having a Mercedes engine deal.

Aston Martin F1....now there's a thought....

Yes, Aston Martin. Very evocative.

We also need Bugatti F1 and Bristol Racing.

ETA: Actually, Aston Martin could lend a whole new dimension - knives sticking out of the wheels, grenade launchers, oil dispersal tool and errm an ejector seat!

Hmm thought I'd made a bad choice spending loads of my budget on Hamilton but car choice might let me down.

Do I not watch the f1 channel and view RTL instead tomorrow.

After a long cold winter its good to see the F1 back on the telly - it means spring is coming :)

In the league the qualifying was dominated by Blatherskite who topped the league with 25 points. Riicks 2nd team was on 20 with Sonnetpete on 19.

The rest of us trailed in with points ranging from 16 to zero...... with some of the regulars right down the wrong end of the grid (including my main team which ended up 22nd. Ahem - some team tweaks needed) :-rofl2

My "A" Team is providing a Foundation Stone for the entire League.

It's all part of a cunning plan.

So cunning, in fact, that even I am not party to it.

The actual race was much closer than we saw last year, and JB ran an excellent tactical game to win with Vettel second and Hamilton third. Sad to see rookie Grosjean's race end on the second lap with broken suspension after his superb third place qualification.

In our league we have a slightly different scoring system this year - as we have 24 cars taking part we have been converted to a race series - we get to use the F1 system of scoring - so the highest race points scorer in the league gets 25 league points. Second 18 points etc. Last year we didnt have so many competitors (21 IIRC) so we had to use the other system.

Anyway, Rick is our early leader scoring 85 race points, Toppers Tossers scoring 81 rp, & wobbles 80 rp.

A special mention for our sole game rookie this year - fergyc who has made a most honourable start to the season and is better placed than many of the old hands :)

Next race is Malaysia next weekend - so make any changes to your teams this week.

I actually rose before 7am to catch the race on RTL HD (being determined to get my money's worth from the HD+ viewing card). The lack of English commentary didn't particularly bother me, though the ad breaks began to annoy, even though they reduce the GP transmission and put it in the bottom right corner so you can still follow the race. Unfortunately they took a break when there was the coming together between Massa and Senna and I couldn't figure out what had gone on. That's the only time I really missed English audio.

I also caught some of the BBC highlights programme this afternoon. I'm reserving judgment on Ben Edwards. He seemed to have a few 'Murray moments' during the start and early laps but calmed down later. Doesn't seem to have the insight of Martin Brundle though. I was impressed with Gary Anderson's input, not surprising with his F1 pedigree.

Well that was 6.00am UK time and I watched on RTL with R5 Live commentary. I enjoyed the race and was also disappointed when Grosjean was punted out so early he is definitely one to watch this season, I thought Jenson was magnificant

Not quite sure about the scoring, as the column added up doesn't match the actual score.

The race points are different from the scoring points this year.

Rick got 25 "league points" for the win having scored 83 race points.

Topper finished second with 81 race points and gets 18 league points

Wobbles was third with 80 race points and gets 15 league points.

This season is a bit of an experiment what with being able to run 2 teams and the league points system. If it doesnt work we can change it next season.

(If nothing else it should mean Norm doesnt run away with first place quite so quickly this year :D)
