According to Maverick's website you can watch free practice sessions through the PureFantasyF1.net website, not sure if this means a live feed or a typed commentary

1. It looks as if TF1 FTA coverage is no longer available

http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2013/02/france-follows-uk-and-italy-to-pay-tv-model-for-f1-coverage/

2. I gather from that same linked article that Rai Uno and Sky Italia are sharing coverage from this Season in a similar way to BSkyB and the BBC, so those with Tivusat Cards should be able to get about half the races without Subscription.

3. I am assuming that RTL will still show the 2013 Races Free to Air, on the basis I've not heard or read anything to the contrary. Can anyone confirm?

Sniffing about looks like SPORT1 Germany 12.480V 27500 will be getting involved too for practising, probably a bit early to know for sure.

It isn't satellite, but for those close to the coast and to Belgium, La Une/La Deux or the VRT (flemish channels) carry the races on DVB-T. On satellite, you require either a TeleSAT or TV Vlaanderen subscription (10€/month)

Not free obviously but Sky Italia are really ramping up their coverage - new labels that have just appeared on 13E are

Highlights
Live Timing
On board leader
On board mix
Pit lane
Race control
Race tracker

which will be nice for those folks who have SI

There's an interesting development today. AD Sports 1,2 have moved from Nilesat 102 to Eutelsat 7 West A as well as adding their HD channels. The significance being that they show all Formula 1 sessions on AD Sports 2 and 6 albeit with only Arabic commentary on AD Sports 2, but still this may now be a viable option for watching all sessions live in HD FTA. Maybe someone can check this for Malaysia this weekend.

Abu Dhabi Sports 2 & HD

7W

12467 H 27500 5/6

DVB-S btw

Yes, so did I ............... although I watched the Race itself delayed by only a couple of hours, I chose to watch the post-Race drivel on the BBC rerun.

SpareHead 3 was his usual professional self (although perhaps a tad overdoing the Grecian 2000) but Suzi was hesitant and ill-informed: I suspect she was trying to react seamlessly to instructions and info via her earpiece, but she simply doesn't have the ability to deal with it fluently. I always liked Jake - consummate performer all round - and she rather proved how good he was.

Where was Eddie, though? Now, he deals with the earpiece stuff by totally ignoring it and ploughing his own furrow!

This was my 1st race watching non-UK coverage (I had Sky F1 for the first 2 races for various reasons). It's now become clear that FP1 and FP2 are covered live on Sport1 on 19.2E.

Apparently, FP2 is also on n-TV (also 19.2E) - that's handy to dodge at least some of the big ad breaks on Sport1 but be aware that coverage may be affected by news bulletins and big news events as I'm sure it was today.

FP3 is delayed and butchered on RTL as always, along with the qualifying and race. It's a real shame we've now lost the much superior coverage - in terms of lack of ad breaks anyway - on TF1 :(

Any news on GP2 coverage on FTA TV - even delayed would be something :(

I watched Free Practice 1 & 2 today on AD Sports 2, without adverts but with only Arabic commentary. They are currently showing a repeat, but this time with English commentary.

AD Sports do show GP2 but I'm not sure if these are highlights as the programme is only scheduled to last an hour. There is scheduled to be a GP2 programme after qualifying tomorrow and it may be worth a look to find out what it actually consists of.

One caveat, AD Sports only broadcasts from 7°W or 26°E.

Yes and whilst I can receive a lot of channels from both positions, still no sign of AD Sports on 7W, even after it's recent move to AB7A. Ah well, it'll help someone :)

Far 78, just for your info I'm posting a screen shot of the AD Sports transponder. I'm using a 1M Gibertini feeding a VU+ Solo. Maybe it's the 5/6 FEC that's causing you problems. Out of interest which 7W channels can you get??
