After having this wee box for just over a week I cant believe how good it is, Its so much sexier than the crappy Eaglebox 800 it replaced due to its glossy Black finish and lack of unit buttons and card slot door. The unit does have a viewing card slot at the left hand side though. I had the box up and running in about 5 minutes, after placing a 8 Gig TDK USB stick in the back I was able to record HD channels without problem. The units multi CAS card reader is as good as any more expensive box with it reading my Al Jaz Irdeto, $ky Italia ND$ cards without problem. There was some other surprises in the Cams Setup menu that I cant discuss as it would stray into the non allowed and I have the greatest respect for the forum. I think the most I can say is the receiver can be a bit "Seedy" if you catch my drift. lol

Nice review.

Much as I'd like one, my two F3s are running like a dream ;)

PS: Does it have WiFi?

In the network options it has the option for WiFi, Ethernet and GPRS. The WiFi option is for if you have the official "stubby" dongle that am sure your aware of, I heard the GPRS only works with 3G data dongles in the asian marketplace.

I have a generic WiFi Dongle costing somewhat less than the "Official" one and working jolly well!

Was it a stubby one with a red N on the end of it?

If it was it was one with a RALInk 5370 chipset, that seems to be the norm these days. Past experience with the likes of the Ferguson Ariva and the Amiko Alien POS they work as good as the branded ones..

As long as it uses the Ralink 5370 chipset it should work ok.

Loads on ebay, item number 310548286327. I've had stuff of the seller before, post usually takes about 14 days as it has to be delivered by Rickshaw :D

Even if it doesn't work your only going to waste £3 so its worth a punt.

Just to let you know the F5 is basically a redesigned F3 in a slimmer case and the USB is now situated on the rear instead of the front, The firmware is the same used on the F3,F4 & F5 no difference at all just cosmetic

Plus it has SCART and GPRS ....... which the F3 doesn't.

Have they sorted the clock out on the F5? The time keeping on my F3 is abysmal - gains 10 minutes a day :D

AFAIK people are using the gprs feature with the gifgaf network in the UK. Haven't tried it myself.

Hi im a newbie to all this television technology. Im more into my computing, console and phone technology. So basically before i try my hand in this field i like to know what im letting mysellf in for. I have done abit of research regarding the box and somethings stand out.

First thing first, cccam? i believe this is some sort of a notepad type file with a client if you like from where you stream the channel. Am i at all correct?

Do i need to be a subscriber to the owner of that cccam or server id be connecting to?

Should i buy one from eBay? would the server i connect to (from the box) go down within 6 months? if i did i understand id be able to sort it out but where do i go about finding cccams that work? or even free?

If i have broken any forum rules regarding my questions then i am sorry a please edit accordingly

and finally thanks in advance for your time :)

CCCam is a bit of decryption software which can be used both legally with legit subscription cards and illegally with card shares.

We will not help with illegal methods of evading pay tv providers legitimate subscription income, and helping you set up to get some dodgy website for access is most definitely against our rules.

Please note we strongly suggest you stay away from pay sites. If for no other reason you have absolutely no idea who is running them - the Mafia looking for easy money or Sky running a sting operation are both distinct possibilities.

Buy an honest subscription and you have a guaranteed years viewing.Go dodgy and dont be surprised if

1) the provider folds a few days after taking your money
2) the police come visiting after they bust the op
3) the picture quality is abysmal as you are given access to heavily overloaded cards - after being given the test on a lightly loaded card.
