Asia is the big market these days - cant remember the exact figures but the money received from Europe is a small proportion of the total compared to the rest of the world.

I think for now the saturday 3pm games are the only ones with problems, if your package shows all the midweek games and the saturday/sunday games that aint on a 3pm then it should still work

The only thing that has changed is the FAPL will only allow one live 3pm kick off on a saturday (I think I read all euro providers will show the biggest 3pm kick off i.e. if sunderland where playing newcastle at 3pm and man u where playing chelsea at 3pm, the euro providers will show the man u match as it would be the bigger of the 2 games)

As a non-league football supporter I can say that I've rarely seen a difference when the local EPL team is playing at 3pm at the same time.

Seeing as the situation has been building up for a number of years, the fall off has been gradual. Go back a decade though and (round here anyway), and the incentive was to go to the local team terraces simply because it was an afternoon out with like minded supporters.

The rot that has set in within that time does mean reversing the trend is going to take time. Fortunately the natives also have a combi rugby/football ground on the other side of town which hasn't suffered the same demise (partly due to the excellent ticket prices and special offers).

I'm just annoyed as the Damm pubs have wrecked it for us viewers at home.

I prefer to go watch rugby league now over football, got a home season ticket to my local rugby team for 100 quid.

The 3pm blackout isn't to protect Premiership gates, it's to protect lower league gates and if you look at 2.Bundesliga and 3.liga gates, they're no better than the English league attendances at similar levels and there are less teams in Germany with a bigger population.

2.Bundesliga (18 sides) _http://soccernet.espn.go.com/stats/attendance/_/league/ger.2/german-2.-bundesliga?cc=5739

Championship (25 sides) _http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/DivisionalAttendance/0,,10794~20117,00.html

3.Liga (20 sides) _http://www.worldfootball.net/zuschauer/3-liga-2010-2011/1/

N Power League 1 (24 sides) _http://itv.stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D2/attend.html

If you support a team not in the top flight and you can afford to go watch them in an convenient manner, you would go to watch them over watching a 3pm Premier League game, surely?

If I was into football enough to go watch a game, I`d go and watch it live rather than on tv anyday if the prices are good enough

Could say the same for a rock concert, I`d rather pay the extra tenner and see the band live in person than go buy the concert on DVD

All that pap about stadium attendences is out dated, if people passion and wanted to go and watch their team live, they would, rather than watching it in a pub or at home on tv

I think the smoking ban and also the drinking ban (I`m sure I read it`s against the law to be drunk on a stadium now) will have hit stadiums more than the local boozer showing the 3pm game, I mean, why go sit in a stadium where you cant smoke and you cant enjoy yourself for fear of being kicked out for being drunk, there again, that would drive people to goto the pub to watch the match or even stay home where they can drink and smoke indoors lol

Well yes certainly for a lot of supporters, but there are a lot of lower league supporters who also have secondary support for Premier teams, plus many may not be ardent supporters and being able to watch a Premiership match is enough of decider to not go to the stadium.

At the end of the day, I wasn't saying that showing the prohibited matches in pubs in England has been the sole cause for low attendances in lower leagues, just that the FA consider that it won't help and also that the member on LJ's was not entirely accurate in his post.

Lets see - its a freezing cold December afternoon in Macclesfield, with snow forecast, a howling gale blowing off the Pennines.

Man Utd are being shown on the telly - which are you going to pick Toastie at home with a beer in your own living room or freezing your nuts off watching Macclesfield play Dagenham on a pitch more suited to growing spuds than playing a game of football, whilst getting ripped off for everything from the match programme to your mug of bovril?

(apologies to Macclesfield & Dagenham supporters - no offence intended - Ive just picked two clubs currently lying the wrong end of Div 2.)

do admc still have all the games on 26e and 7west due to the satellite footprint ?

the premier league have been too greedy or sky have been too stupid and paid over the top for the rights.

1.6billion or whatver it was and they dont even get 3pm games

i wonder how many people in the nordic regions and europe was watching the footy because of the choice of matches and now with only 1 3pm kick off a lot of providers i doubt will bother as not many will want to watch west brom v wigan if this gets picked as a 3pm game.

why dont the fa do a trial and really see if the attendances go down if all games are shown ?

So it's only 1 3pm game being shown live by each tv provider then ?

Until next season when the extra 16 tv games start to move away 3pm fixtures.

Looking at the fixtures on liveonsat not everyone has gone for the arsenal game and west brom - Liverpool is another being shown by a few channels
but lesser teams people will need to try get admc to watch them etc.

I'm still going to have sky it and maybe cyfra+ again and just see what matches I'm able to view.

Digital+ of Spain seem to have three of the six 3pms, but they are asterisked in the listings.

Must mean something, like waiting to choose which one to show, or switching from game to game - anyone know what the asterisk means?

C+ Liga is a simulcast which flicks between 3 games as and when goals go in
C+ Futbol is WBA v Liverpool

Yes, I worked that out after putting up my post - the listings say *[SC] - the SC obviously meaning simulcast.

The listings also show another simulcast program - Sport 1 Israel - but they don't say *[SC] with that channel, there is a separate note. Stangely inconsistent format.
