Have a channel master 1.3m dish

Dear All,

I have a channel Master 1.2m KU band dish which I am trying to fix Cband LNBF on. I have tried for some time now without any signal all though when I fix a Ku band LNBF on it I get all the signals available. I live in Bexleyheath in Kent. Does anyone know an expect to do this job for me? I know there will have to be some form of Improvisation.

Thanks

You should be using a funnel (or horn) type feed, and this would normamly be attached to the dish using a 60mm clamp.

Do you have these already ?

What feed horn are you using? There are a few threads covering this subject, do a search :)

hi
as well as needing a cone shaped feed -- a different lnb holder assembly will be needed to get the correct position for a C band lnb and feed --
the existing channel master one wont do --

How have you mounted the C band l.n.b ? the position is quite critical

i have some pictues somewhere of a bracket i made for a 1 metre channel master
to hold a c band lnb -- i will try to find later--

Hello Nelson.b I was trying to screw a conical ring on the back of the ku band holder. It's not working. so I am looking for someone with experience in that direction for guidance and help. The pictures will be handy. Possibly a clamp will do.

Thanks

There is a dish expert not far from you who can probably sort it all out (at a reasonable rate).

Your profile system information doesn't inform others of what stb equipment you have, you will only receive the NE zone beam on 34.5 West -http://www.lyngsat.com/intel903.html

and Europe and Africa beam on 37.5 West
-http://www.lyngsat.com/37west.html

Hardly worth the investment I would have thought for the small number of channels but hey if it keeps you busy why not

34.5W looks tricky on a 1.2m, but 37W looks possble.

I could come and take a look next week if you want PM me.I'm about 20 mins from you.

cheers

yes -- i used the parts shown above -- but the lnb holder will not fit directly onto a fibreglass 1.2 channel master -- to use that holder you need to alter the way the arms are held together and to make enough room to fit the feedhorn -- below are some pics of how i fit those parts to a c.m. 1.2 --

the first pic shows an original channel master k/u holder assembly --

You did a nice job of fabricating that bracket.
Have you had any luck with getting the Ku section to work?
Minimo claims if you extend the Ku section back using a 1/2" metal spacer it works great.

hi - forty -
i can post some more detailed pictures if you wish ? -

but basicly its just cut from a piece of perforated angle iron -( you could use plain ) - with some extra holes in the corner - for holding the side arms , and a spacer under the centre support arm -- to lower the bracket a little -
-
the important thing is to make sure you end up with the bottom support arm , at the same / original angle -- and the l.n.b. position at the same height / position as the K/U original was --
but a 1 metre dish will not get very much in C band -- only the very strongest signals from 2 or 3 sats -- are there any - channels / sats - in particular that you are wanting to receive?
its quite a bit of work for a quite a small number of channels -a 1. 5 metre dish upwards is needed to be honest ----

regards nelson.b.

@ satcom1
the k/u part of the d.m.x. has never been better than poor - on every setup/config i,v tried including spacer/ positioning -- l.o.l.
