Abit late now, but I should have called my Teams Moulinex and Singer in appreciation (?!) of the massive throaty roar of the new Engines. Not.

I have re-numbered my Force Nee Idea teams 1 and 2, I was confused by my 'bonus' team and couldn't delete it, thus Nee Idea!

You should be able to edit the team names.

Jimmy H needs a second team.

Is that a euphemism?

Just in case it wasn't I've created a second team under the name 'Ruby Reds' nothing to do with ManU - more of a dog thing.

Good luck to all.

Gawd these cars sound horrible!!!
They just do not sound right at all - sound rough as kucf.
More like a morning fart than a ROOOOOOAAARRR that an F1 engine should be.

And sooo quiet - you hear the wheels squealing on lock ups, and almost hear them thudding the tarmac....

And wow - DRS opens a lot!

Nice that Ricciardo got Webber's seat at Red Bull. Shame he's inherited his luck to go with it

Thoroughly enjoyed that. The changes for this year have rejuvenated my interest and I've even got used to the new whining noises from Fettle.

When AS returns or perhaps Maverick could explain what this means exactly

* EXTRAORDINARY ADJUSTMENT OF COSTS: IF THE TEAM OWNER DOESN'T CLEAR THE BUDGET, IT WILL BE DONE WITH AUTOMATED TEAM COMPONENT TRANSFERS AFTER THE DATABASE CLOSING TIME.

What is it all about I have tried to find it in the rules but see nothing obvious

It's the amendment to Component Costs that takes place after 3 Races. I saw it somewhere in the dim and distant past, but couldn't put my finger on it right now.

It's a mechanism for correcting the pre-Season Component costs to a more realistic level based more upon reality than prediction.

Like you, one of my Teams contained elements that were uprated to such an extent that the revised Cost exceeded the Budget.

So you now have to change your selections to bring the Budget back into kilter.

Ahhh....that explains why I had a £4,000,000 deficit........bit like being a banker really...

But that is surely the whole point of the game to predict what will take place ( based on PS testing results and overall paddock talk) and if you get it correct as I have with one team, you benefit accordingly, this way I feel like I am being penalised, what is even more bizarre the team to lose most points is the one in 22nd position

Yes, but the initial costs set by Maverick are based on historical data, which is all he can do really, and clearly contained what actual racing later proved to be anomalies eg Frank Williams was valued at 5 based on how crap they've been, so some of us saw an opportunity to select that as a cheap option in the expectation that they were on the up. So his worth is now more accurately assessed and has been uprated accordingly. More accurate costings are surely more realistic? If it was done later in the Season, then I guess it would be more significant in penalising or rewarding some players, but doing it this early gives plenty of time and opportunity for the really keen to adjust their strategies skilfully and effectively.

It's been like this every year, as far as I can recall.

Fortunately, as a perpetual midfielder, my Teams just serenely swan along in mediocrity regardless!

I must have been under a rock for the last how ever many years then, I have never seen big red negative numbers before, as you say it is the same for all but bringing out the safety car to bunch up the field again never did strike me as fair, but then Jenson doesn't like the restarts either

Damn those rocks!

Whilst the post-safety car dogfight between Lewis and Rosberg was thrilling, it was intriguing and a little weird to note the rest lining up behind as if to board Noah's Ark ................ two Merc, two FI, two Ferrari, two Williams.

And no McLarens for the first time in a number of years
