And what would you expect to find if you were a potential newbie to the forum with that "very bland" forum logo????

Something stylish, modern and up to date. Much in keeping with the streaming and online presence we have to acknowledge is now part of our hobby. Besides, I quite like vanilla...

:confused - "instant gratification" seems to be what the "modern generation" crave, so where will a "vanilla" approach get us???
COME ON! - that logo can be a LOT more enticing! (will try to think of something more appropriate to the current climate tomorrow).

Very bland =vanilla.....
That's what I thought that you implied, but not what I strongly believe is required - and why I said in post #63 what I did.

Just noticed that, when quoting/replying to a previous post, the icon for you to drop down the list of smilies has disappeared from the default list of commands menu at the top - you then have to click on the central (of the three) "three dots" icon to drop down the alternative list of more icons, including the one for the smilies!

That's "very annoying" - the smilies icon really needs to return to where it was on the default list!

AND that's what I had to do to get to this one ""! - and this one
BUMPED - because that retrospective change is necessary IMHO!

The Forum has a great many Users, but so far only a single User has highlighted that as an issue. One assumes others find it insignificant. But, of course, it's early days.

But, unfortunately, only a very few of those "great many Users" do actually post here (or even actually visit the forum} on a regular basis - therefore it's not those that need to be kept "happy", but the forum really does need to attract "new blood" if it wants to stay vibrant and viable in the longterm.

Let's face it, the seemingly endless number of sub forums and sections is a lot more off putting than the logo. Some streamlining certainly wouldn't go amiss.

Yes, that's far more pressing than the odd gripe about relative trivia.

Almost certainly true - many of the subforums have had few, if any, posts in the last few weeks / months /years, and thus should be Archived ASAP, and then the whole forum should then be substantially "rejigged".

Can't remember the exact details, but I do remember starting a somewhat similar thread about a year or so ago. Some welcome changes were then made, but, IMHO, not enough, and then nor were they then regularly reviewed and further updated by the Staff.

I really do understand that all the Staff donate their time and effort on a voluntary basis - but the overall issue does now need to be revisited (and as soon as possible).

Hurrah! - @chris has now restored the old default list of available actions, and thus the smilies have returned to their former home! :-clap

BUT, I (we?) appear to have "lost" all the info below the posters' gifs on the left side of the screen (noticed this earlier today, but didn't comment at that time).

PS: am now in Sats wide viewing mode..

If you mean the details that are revealed by clicking on the blue arrow, it's never altered for me. But then I am running Opera on Windows 8.1..

Could be a browser issue (or even down to settings on individual PC's?) then - I'm running latest version Firefox on W10 Pro.

That info is visible in "Forum New" (pka "Vice 2.2), but not "Forum Wide". Not an OS or Browser issue, methinks.
