I'm willing to bet it was either the Live or Neutral riveting that failed, I was just reading back and reminding myself how badly those things were put together, but I will say the modified unit of mine is still working perfectly in it's replacement case...
And it's replacement plug is still doing sterling service in the living room, such handy devices, especially for my now disused Toshiba TV which has a broken power switch which is always on, and the modified standby saver being used instead to switch it on and off...
Haven't got round to connecting my new Samsung TV up to it yet though... O-Ha
