Hello gardeners! This season I plan to build a new 2.5m x 8m greenhouse, mostly for hot and super hot peppers. Seedlings already on the way (planted them mid-February), but still need to build a greenhouse. Some seeds I've got from @focus36 Thanks Gordon! IMG_20230311_130024a.jpg

Seedlings are on the way, but there is no greenhouse. So, I am building one, and I need it fast. It will be 2.3x8m, polycarbonate covered with 9 timbers like this IMG_20230324_124019.jpg

You mean you are going to use a wooden frame! - I thought, knowing some of what you've done in the past, that you would be using at least INOX for that!

Looking good RimaNTSS, will take a few pictures of my polycrub built year before last made from recycled plastic from fish farms the main frame of it anyway, and then polycarbonate sheets 7m long 1 meter wide 10mm thick, they were put together by people on Shetland, cant take winds of up 125mph they reckon, comes as a flat pack i built it myself but they do have builders that will put them up for you.poly 1.jpgpoly 2.jpg

no INOX this time :( (would be too expencive)... and instead of wood will use normal zinc coated metal.

Wow, very impressive, well done.
One question, what are the circular holes for in the two slabs near the doorway?

Added more metal to the frame. It is more stable now. With red, I marked the window. Still brainstorming how to make this window better. Of course, it will be powered by actuator taken from satellite hobby. IMG_20230328_190621a.jpg

Will need a lot of hinges for the greenhouse, 20 to be exact. So decided to make them out of INOX. The first one took a lot of time, but the rest should go faster, I think. IMG_20230330_200853.jpgIMG_20230330_200915.jpgIMG_20230330_200926.jpg

I've bought this stainless steel cable and turnbuckles (also INOX) to make a support lines for plants IMG_20230407_204201a.jpg . But then decided to make tensioners instead of turnbuckles. So, I think those self-made tensioners will also fit the purpose. IMG_20230407_194149a.jpgIMG_20230407_194552a.jpg

Guess what I will be using to automate the doors and the window of the greenhouse... yes, the proper actuators. I think 12-incher should be more than enough. IMG_20230408_175754a.jpg

The greenhouse is up, but not running yet, as they promise freezing temperatures soon. IMG_20230424_145830a.jpgIMG_20230424_123552a.jpg

They predict up to -6*C frost next couple of nights, so I do not hurry to plant anything in the green houses. Meanwhile, have installed 3x12-inch actuators on doors and window of the new greenhouse (1,2,3). Also got 2x120 black plastic barrels (#4) which I plan to insert in the greenhouse lifted ~ 1m to have enough water pressure and also temperature. All actuators will be controlled by relays depending on the temperature. Of course, the doors and the window will be easily to open by hand anytime independently.
