the gibertins had a faulty focus from the factory
That is very easy to check. Firstly, users need to measure carefully the dimensions of the dish, then calculate the position of the focal point and an offset angle. Afterward, place the LNB in such a way that its phase center is co-located with the antenna's focal point. Then point the dish assembly towards the chosen satellite and enjoy the perfect performance of the system. To double-check whether the LNB positioned correctly, just measure the leaning of the surface of the dish. If, after comparing the elevation of the satellite and the leaning of the surface of the dish, you come up with a calculated offset angle, then all is right.

I remember when researching a new dish gain figures varied between websites, i'd only trust the original manufacturer. If you're confident in the setup there must be an issue with the dish

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

didn't thought of taking detailed pictures before, the entire thing is packed back now for return. i do not want to waste any more time with it.
feedarms appear to be fine, 2 pcs that form V shape. i tried to look carefully from several different angles, couldn't notice the dish is bent in any way.
about gain figures, TD110 should do 40.2 at 11.7ghz, so with this supposedly 43.4 dbi dish a gain increase of 3.2 dbi is supposed to translate into 15-20% signal increase. if it did 12-15% better it would still be fine for me, otherwise this is nothing
Your profile suggest 'south', south of where ?

Your supplier, online or local ?

Return to where ?

Plenty of others have had no other issues with Gibertini dishes (of any model) unless there has been damage in transit - you mentioned scratches and missing parts - or the purchase was on the cheap.

Elsewhere on this site there are posts mentioning incorrect Gibertini feedarms supplied by a dealer, yours may be one of them.

Here is the topic where a wrong arm was supplied by HM-sat to a gibertini dish:

Nothing wrong with checking/calculating focal point position, even with a new dish...!
