Update:
Having had a look at the GTMedia Shop which quoted me 105 Euros, I came across TV / IPTV / SAT Receivers which quoted 92 Euros including delivery by Mon 14th March - then again I wonder if HMRC will charge any Duty/VAT before I get it as it's actually appears to be coming from Spain????
Well, maybe next week('ish)
Let us know how things go and what the end price is when it finally arrives at your door.To clarify the situation, I have ordered one from the website that I linked early this evening - and thus waiting to see what actually happens !
Hello ,. The V8 UHD tuner is definitely more sensitive although the Combo will display 4.2.2 feeds internally this is easily and quickly done on the V8 UHD via GT Share or an internally created playlist m3u and viewed on most Android players in real time and not recorded. In fact I’m watching a 4.2.2 feed on an old iPhone 5s in bed at the moment with full control over the receiver. GT Media produce some really good stuff quite cheaply with plenty of software add ons.
The tuner sensitivity has been mentioned here and other forums too. Remember I express a personal opinion based on my setup and subsequent findings. No two owners setups are exactly the same.Hello ,
I would really like to see two screenshots of a program ( the image and not the signal bars) that is very difficult to receive, one with the GTCombo and the other with the V8 UHD.In no other forum ( the ones I know of) have I read that the V8UHD is more sensitive.
I'm not talking about amateur radio broadcasts on the 26° East, it has nothing to do with the sensitivity, but it's the possibility to read below 10700
As for watching 4.2.2, on a mobile phone or tablet it's not a solution for me (much too small), I prefer to watch it on a real TV screen.
I've ordered; one month ago; directly to the manufacturer.. cost 119 dollars, delivered to my house, waiting 12 days... it's perfect for a perfect toy ;)If you look back on this thread there’s purchase prices quoted of £55 delivered to door so it’s practically doubled in price in a couple of months. That’s straying into Octagon SF8008 territory of €150 delivered. Might be something for others to think about
@John good news from GTMEDIA re the 16e issue:ive worked out what causes it
its a channel between numbers 76 -80 (for me) that kill it
its the channel after "viasat nature sd" that kills it
cant even get to show it to delete it in channel manager - maybe its the 1 TP with 4 channels.
yes 10927 H 29999 is the issue, u cannot even delete the TP - it crashes
contains these channles:
im trying a work around....adding a new sat - and then blind scanning it.
u can scan to your hearts content, that doesnt lock it up, the issue is when you scroll down the channels afterwards, and then hit the mid 70s channel number or nature HD or whatever i quote previously, then it loops....maybe you have the mk2, we have the mk1, but GTMEDIA can replicate and are fixingGuys...Did I read that scanning 16E locks up the receiver??
No such problems here..ran a few blind scans now no problems..or I'm I having a senior moment??
No problems scanning 16e here either. I only noticed one report on the GT Media forum about this issue. Possibly a non issue. In fairness they have said they’re investigating it. Let’s see what comes of that. What I have noticed is if a signal is any way marginal the tuner labours over the particular TP but the blindscan does complete.Guys...Did I read that scanning 16E locks up the receiver??

Ahh OKu can scan to your hearts content, that doesnt lock it up, the issue is when you scroll down the channels afterwards, and then hit the mid 70s channel number or nature HD or whatever i quote previously, then it loops....maybe you have the mk2, we have the mk1, but GTMEDIA can replicate and are fixing
Just avoid that channel then, but will have a try see if it happens here..u can scan to your hearts content, that doesnt lock it up, the issue is when you scroll down the channels afterwards, and then hit the mid 70s channel number or nature HD or whatever i quote previously, then it loops....maybe you have the mk2, we have the mk1, but GTMEDIA can replicate and are fixing
who knows mate.is there a new GT media coming out ??.and if there is then the processor in it might handle 4.2.2 feeds.
Just pressed the channel up and down. It does crash, but go back press the channel up and select a good one then thd sat list reappears as if by magicYeah that's messed up. How r u doing that
There’s so many issues being reported purely down to users not reading the docs properly.yes, of course thats what you need to do - but you only know to do that due to the findings and work of others,
also, its worse than that - as you cannot delete the TP or delete the channels in question.
without this knowledge, we'd all be saying what a buggy piece of crap the box is - when it isn't - it took time and effort to realise what the issue was @Satspot which reminds me.........the TM5402 M4
