Hi all,

My old H-H motor was broken by the recent storms. It was a Silent Gold 100 Geotrack motor like the one shown here -> http://multimediasystems.co.uk/acatalog/h2h128.jpg

You can see it's an older top arm type which connected to the dish bracket using 2 horizontal bolts with spacers either side to keep it centred.

I since purchased a Technomate TM2600 to replace it. Unfortunately I didn't realise the old dish bracket wouldn't mate up exactly with the newer drop down pole layout of the new motor.

Does anyone know where I could get the right fittings to attach the old bracket to the motor arm so the correct declination can be achieved?

Edit: I attached a pic of the back of the dish with the old bracket shown next to the new actuator arm.

Thanks.

The easiest method might be to get hold of a couple of exhaust brackets, that can attach the motor to the dish.

what type of dish is it ?
If 1mtre or less ..it does beg the question ..
Is it worth adapting ..when new 1mtre dishes can be got on ebay delivered for about £40.
these would be complete with suitable AZ/EL brackets.
If above 1Mtre then the motor might not be suitable to drive it anyway..

That could work but the issue there is how would I set the declination angle on the existing bracket if it's strapped to the arm with a bracket?

I guess I could screw back the original horizontal bolts at the correct Dec. mark and then try and horizontally clamp them to the actuator arm with exhaust brackets or O-ring clips as you suggest.

What I really need is another one of those square brackets like the one that attaches the motor to the wall mount vertical pole.

It's a 90cm Triax dish so the motor should be able to handle it fine.

Could you link to a dish you could recommend on eBay?

I'd spend a little more than £40 ..and get a Gibertini ..or Orbital..
Search Ebay for these names.
Your motor will carry a Triax 110 ..if at low elevation and out of direct winds..
But these are heavy beasts and about the limit for a disqc motor..
..and a pita to set up due to the poorly designed AZ/EL mount..

Other folk might have suggestions for you as well..
