i am planning to buy a TECHNOMATE TM-6900 HD COMBO
i would like to have channels from:
Intelsat 3R/11 at 43.0°W (mexican channels in europe)
Thor 3/5 & Intelsat 10-02 at 0.8°W
Hispasat 1C/1D at 30.0°W
Hot Bird 8 at 13.0°E
Hot Bird 6 at 13.0°E
Hellas Sat 2 at 39.0°E
Intelsat 905 at 24.5°W
Astra 2D (28.2E)
the question is how big the dish should be?
i suppose i need a motorized dish if i want all these satellites.
what lnb is best for hd channels??
sincerely
peter

Welcome to the forum hope1106

OK first things first, what line of site have you got? An 82 degree arc is quite a challenge, but not impossible assuming you have LOS, as regards Mexican channels, there are televisa mexican channels on the European beam, and in the clear not that I can get them, but dish size does not appear to be a problem on the European beam. For all the other I always suggest 1mtr simply to be within local regulations without applying for planning permission. For such an arc you will need your mounting to be spot on vertically.

I suggest you go to _http://www/dishpointer.com to determine that, insert the lat and long thus 51.876515, -0.589239 and away you go

Well without a photograph of where you are mounting the dish and the corresponding line of site I cannot say. That detail you give covers two satellites there could be a lampost in front of where you are mounting the dish I do not know thus cannot say. Just remember that with an offset dish the signal actually come in from above not from where the dish is pointing as per the picture

I have a Triax TD110, I will take a look a bit later on and see what kind of signal strength I'm getting.
