hi all, trying to connect to dreambox via my PC.

Hi to all i have just got myself a couple o dreamboxes found this forum and thought it would be good to join and try to learn about satellite.I am having issues getting my pc to connect to my dreambox throught home hub and flash fxp can somebody point me in the right dirrection?

Get your networking sorted out first and make sure each box has a unique ip address on the system.

hi thanks for such a quick reply.I am only trying to set up one just now i have it connected with ethernt cable to homehub.I can connect to the gemini server and i can see it on the home hub.If i try to connect flashfxp it comes up as if it is going to connect it shows a dreambox folder then tells me password incorrect,i also tried dreamup but was still unable to connect.

Hmm. Have you bought these with pay tv included by any chance?

hi no they are just standard box with gimini. I tried and was able to update it with the latest gemini that was on there server.

Be careful with Gemini images - they have a nasty habit of trashing the bootloaders on clone boxes (deliberately)

Would that stop me from getting into it with flashfxp?

No - it just destroys the functionality of the box

Should i be able to connect direct from pc to dbox with flashfxp and a crossover cable i am sure i had one for my xbox.

Set it up

pc - router - dreambox,

and use normal ethernet cables

That was the way i had it set up as i said could not connect to the dbox although it connects to the net.

hi again i run dcc added the ip addresses in there then i connected through flash fxp and dcc.
