Hi Chaps,
I am trying to get this toptv nds card to work in my DB ,card is fine in provider stb.
toptv is a new provider in South africa.
Seems to be a ver 1 or 2 card.
I have found in the diagnostics menu the following:
a 10 digit STB Serial Number and a 16 digit CA STB ID.
All decimal values, does not seem to be hex, though not sure.
Can I use B16MCC boxkey calculator with 16 digit STB ID ?
If so must a zero be added in front of number to make 17 digits?
cheers for any info.

What are you trying to achieve you do not appear to have a Dreambox according to your profile?

Your best bet would be to use the 10 digit code and just try it. Adding a zero to a 16 digit code will make no difference as the 17 digit code is chopped before its converted anyway.

Do not use the boxkey converter , the hex conversion code is early code and has been updated several times. Use the Dreambox Config Creator . latest version is 0.9.5, and enter your boxkey into that. That contains the latest boxkey hex conversion code. Enter your 10 digit number into the 9-11 box. Do not enter anything in the 17 digit box.

Try it in CCcam and see how it goes.

When using my 10 digit number the boxkey are all F's which does not sound right.
When entering my 16 digit CA STB ID into 17 digit field I get a boxkey.
Will test and report back.

Not yet,still trying various things.
In Cccam getting a card init fail so going to try newcs.
Card must initialise before boxkey can be read from card or any ecm's can be handled.

CCcam cannot yet read the boxkey from an NDS3 card, hence the reason you have to set it manually.

When you say the boxkey comes out as all F's, how are you calculating it ?

I put the 10 digit serial number of my provider box into the serial number field in your config creater program and got all F's.
When entering my 16 digit CA STB ID (from diagnostic menu of ST:cool: into 17 digit field I get a boxkey.
Are trying newcs with no boxkey at the moment to try get card to initialise in newcs but just discovered that newcs.xml file must not be edited in notepad, which I did.
Have created another newcs and cccam config using your program and will try that tomorrow.
If I type < db ip address >:8080 in firefox will I be able to see if card is recognised by newcs to see if I'm on the right track ?
probably should use port 1001 for debug mode

OK it sounds like the serial numbers are a different format than those on UK boxes and therefore my boxkey conversion code is probably not applicable to your box. However you may be able to do something with the serial number from the menu using other methods. When you run NewCS, you can see the web interface as you've described, this will help you, however I recommend running NewCS from a termnial window in debug mode and watching the output for more information.

The two different numbers that you are referring to, are they similar in anyway, or totally different ? Are they both hexidecimal , one of them, or none of them? Judging by your sig line, I assume you know what hex is.

Cheers Syphan, hope to sort this soon !
When I try my stb's serial number the boxkey created by your app is all FF's.
With the CA STB ID from the stb's menu I get what looks like it could be a valid boxkey (in hex - 0 to 9 and A to F)
But I made a stuff up today as my newcs was not starting up when box was rebooted (box ip:8080 timed out in firefox)
and cccam info showed it off line so I deleted the start up script by mistake from the gemini image (thought it was the newcs bin file)
I can reinstall newcs bin from addon server but do not know how to re install start up script for newcs,I believe it must start before cccam to grab card.
Are thinking of trying to install black hole 0.12 tomorrow, what do you suggest ?
Please tell me the commands to run newcs and to start and stop emu's from a terminal window as still a Linux noob :)
btw used your cool app to create newcs.xml and cccam.cfg - I selected DM800 but newcs.xml created file using sci1 instead of sci0
changed it in notepad++ and all was fine.
Thought you would like to know, otherwise very useful programme.
Cheers for the help,mate

A member of oscam forum has figured out a way using B16MCC config creator and adding 2 zeros in front of a number shown in provider stb diagnostic menu.
Will be trying it tomorrow ;)

To work out boxkey...

Take the serial number on rear of decoder

if you only have 16 chars just add a 0 in front.

you can comfirm this 4 bytes hex answer by taking the 1st byte and EXOR it with 0x80 and then use that with the last 3

bytes

and you will find this number in the service menu.

Using the correct box key opened up a few more channels only 6 in total if memory serves.
Have not had time to look at this further, has anyone else made any progress ?
