with viaccess, nds2 , nds3 all running fine
u sure u haven't got a port conflict?
also what hub are you using ?
i believe some hubs can be a problem
when ur watching c4hd on both boxes ur only using 1 of the cards thats why its not glitching only 2 control words from 1 card is being requested.

R

ok, i've checked ports are they are using different ports. does it make a difference how "far" the ports are away? i've got the irish card on 12678 and the UK card on 12679. are those port numbers too close?

i'd thought that alright, cause i've never had problems with other devices and port numbers beside each other but i thought dreamboxes might be a different beast! i'll stick my dunces hat on now!

hey guys & girls

i need some serious help here! i've tried everything that comes to mind with my limited knowledge of dreamboxes and i've been reading over tons of threads and still cant get this sorted.

i have two omnikeys 3121 with an irish card in one, uk card in the other. in newcs.xml both readers are set up with different port numbers. under newcamd server i have ONE user with username & password set as CCcam. (i have also tried 2 separate users and specified the port number for each user to a diff card)

then in my cccam.cfg i have the two n lines

n: 10.0.1.100 12678 cccam cccam 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
n: 10.0.1.100 12679 cccam cccam 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

and one F: line going to a box on my local network. server listen port is 12000

i have the server box on discovery HD (cleared via irish card) and the blue panel shows it connecting to the correct port number for the irish card, 12678. on my second box i have it on Channel 4 HD (uk card only) and its showing the address of 10.0.1.100:12000. but every 4-5 seconds both boxes are freezing. when both are on a channel from the same card all is perfect.

i have checked and double checked all my port settings so if anybody has any other ideas or a working newcs.xml & cccam.cfg for 2 (or more) cards that i could have a look at (via PM of course!) and edit for my own situation i would appreciate it a lot.

thanks very much for al the info so far

You will need unique users for each connection to your card (using the N line).
The F line is used for clients to connect to YOU! (CCcam)

According to your post, your newcs is listening on ports 12678 and 12679; how does your F line fit with this????

sorry, i meant to say i have a c: line in my server cccam.cfg and an f: line in my client box in the other room.

my f line on the client box is F: 10.0.1.100 12000 user pass

the 12000 is the server listen port i have set in the server cccam.cfg

i did have 2 users on my cccam.cfg like this

n: 10.0.1.100 12678 cccam cccam 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
n: 10.0.1.100 12679 cccamuk cccamuk 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

and then the F: lie on the client was F: 10.0.1.100 12000 user pass.

my newcs is istening
<listening-ip>10.0.1.100</listening-ip>

and then for each reader i have
<newcamd_port>12678</newcamd_port>

for the users i have (with other details as well but i dont want to post too much in case its against the rules)
<name>CCcam</name>
<password>CCcam</password>
<port>12678</port>

so when i add the second user its
<name>CCcamuk</name>
<password>CCcamuk</password>
<port>12679</port>

its driving me mental cos i know its something simple!

cheers

OK, the N lines are ok if you use the second user (cccamuk)
n: 10.0.1.100 12678 cccam cccam 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
n: 10.0.1.100 12679 cccamuk cccamuk 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

I'm still having problems trying to understand your F line though and this is where I susupect your problem is. How many boxes (clients) do you have? 2 at least from what you write... With the 1st box, you connect to your server (10.0.1.100) through the N lines, is this also yout CCcam server? If so, with the second client than you will connect with a C line (F line in server cccam.cfg) directly to CCcam which has the cards shared.

i have my dm800 as a server with newcs reading the cards and then sending that to cccam. i then have a dm800 in a different room in the house that connects with cccam to my server. that is my only client that im trying to get working. i have 4 mates with dm800 as well but i've disconnected all those clients until i get this working.

in my server cccam i have a single C: line

C: user pass

on my client i have a single F: line that is

F: 10.0.1.100 12000 user pass

the 12000 in that f line is for the server listen port of cccam on my server dm800.

Your server 10.0.1.100 is also your CCcam server (which connects to your cards via newcs).

The F line goes on the SERVER 800 box; which should be the 10.0.1.100 machine.
The C line will Connect to your server so it should look like something like this "C: 10.0.1.100 12000 user pass"

It appears that you are confusing the client and server roles

sorry, i am getting confused here. yes on my server i have f lines and the clients have c lines. i presume my c & f lines are working fine as the card is sharing from my server to the client. the problem is when the second card tries to come in.

im gonna try it all again here now. when im adding the users to NewCS, should i specify the port number? (using the config creator didnt add these port numbers to the user section of newcs) eg:

<user>
<name>CCcam</name>
<password>CCcam</password>
<au>on</au>
<sidoverride>off</sidoverride>
<spider>no</spider>
<cardlevel>1</cardlevel>
<rate>1</rate>
<port>12678</port>
</user>

<user>
<name>CCcamuk</name>
<password>CCcamuk</password>
<au>on</au>
<sidoverride>off</sidoverride>
<spider>no</spider>
<cardlevel>1</cardlevel>
<rate>1</rate>
<port>12679</port>
</user>

and then in cccam.cfg SERVER
N: 10.0.1.100 12678 CCcam CCcam 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14
N: 10.0.1.100 12679 CCcamuk CCcamuk 01 02 03 04 05 06 07 08 09 10 11 12 13 14

F: user pass

then in CCcam.cfg CLIENT

C: 10.0.1.100 12000 user pass

i've just tried this setup and its giving the same issues

C: user pass

F: 10.0.1.100 12000 user pass

it needs to be
in my server cccam

F: user pass

on my client

C: 10.0.1.100 12000 user pass

Then check your newcs console through web http://10.0.1.100:8080 (if 8080 is the port in newcs.xml)

Now I'm the one that's confused ;-)

Let's see if this is right:
* DM800 server running CCcam + newcs with 2 omnikey readers (Node 0 and 1)
* Cards are enabled and displayed through newcs web interface
* Client dm800 box not connecting to dm800 server box

YES DM800 server running CCcam + newcs with 2 omnikey readers (Node 0 and 1)
YES Cards are enabled and displayed through newcs web interface
YES Client dm800 box IS connecting to dm800 server box

sorry, maybe i didnt make myself clear enough. the boxes are communicating perfectly. they can both read the Irish card AND can both read the UK card no problem, perfect picture. The problem is that when one box tries to read the Irish card and the other tries to read the UK card, BOTH boxes start to freeze & glitch every 4 - 5 seconds.

Finally a clear picture on what you are doing )(-red

The cards probably have the same CAID and therefore you will need to tweak the priority file. Why use both???

You can add an entry in the CCcam.prio file but I don't know if it will work with 2 identical cards

If you really want to look into this then I suggest you look at cccam.cfg as well, you might be able to filter the channel directly through the C line. It would be a lot simpler if the second reader was installed on the second box

i was thinking this alright but the second box isnt always going to be at home, it'll be brought to our other house quite a bit so i'd rather not do this.

anyway, i'll start doing some reading and post here if i find anything. thanks again
