I think that there are a few motors that will operate under DiseqC 1.0, but you may find it a bit limiting once you're all set up. I'll find out a couple of names for you, the Jaeger Silent Gold may be one that can operate under 1.0.
They did a strange motor but works well on 80/90cm dishes, which has four positioning within the software
You need a matchstick to adjust the settings at the dish end and a bit of patience with the speed. Oh and turn off the DiSEqC control on the receiver first.
Works a treat with Iranian customers who dont need Astra ( the gearbox is limited in travel)
Channel Hopper
I wasn't doubting your advise its just that I'd already posted to Humax..
Just to clarify..I need a Digiquest motor which will get me 4 satellites? will it be ok for use in the UK? anyone know where I can get one? are they easy to fit myself?
hi howard i had a f1 vaci on a motorised system i had stand alone positioner i selected my channel then turned dish to satellite i found that if positioner failed box still worked i didnt need disceq motor hope this helps

There are loads of alternatives if you feel that the 4 positions are not sufficient, you can go the same route as tuksumduin and either buy a dedicated positioner, or an analogue receiver wiith positioner (very cheap).
thanks m8..let me get this right..
I could run an analogue box (with integral positioner)alongside my Humax
Or I could buy a dedicated positioner with its own power source
Or I can get a motor that operates under Diseqc 1.0 (own power supply?)
Or I could buy a whole new system and sell this one.
hi howard i have dedicated positioner with its own mains power. . cable from dish motor into positioner to turn dish. cable from lnb to humax 5400z i have 14 sat positions tuned into positioner some not very clear depending on weather conditions i know wich channels are on what saterllite and turn dish to wich channel i want to watch
tuksumduin
thanks again for the info m8. it all sounds a bit too complicated for me..so I would need a positioner and a motor? which order do they go in? does the motor need it own power too?
Howard, here is a LINK to the unit i use, it can operate under diseqC 1.0 and can be used with later versions as well.
It is very easy to set up, it has left and right buttons actually on the unit, so you can scan for the satellites when setting up and lock the positions for your DiseqC 1.0 receiver.
hi howard
when i said cable from positioner to dish motor i ment h to h mount that fits inbetween pole and dish the mount gets its power from the positioner eg on my positioner hotbird is no5 so if i want to watch hotbird i just put no5 into positioner with remote positioner sends electric signal up to h to h mount and turns it to hotbird i hope this makes it a bit clearer
