Sam, now a small but potent Cat4 hurricane.

Early predictions are it will pass very close to Bermuda, with another storm brewing about three days behind.

Make that two following. Storm Peter also looks as though it is recovering.

A good article with terminology of mid-atlantic storms and the potential for Sam over the next week.

Sam’s central pressure drop was the fastest on record for any storm being so east in the tropical Atlantic in September.

Having missed Bermuda last night. Sam is now on its way over to us.

Sam could become the fifth longest lasting hurricane on record.

East Florida and Georgia on tornado watch.
I don't know if there are all year round tornado watches, but the five or so that passed through US states last night have been classed as the most destructive ever.

Estimates across the whole area is of 130 deaths and rising, potentially double that number since the emergency services have been hampered through collapsed buildings, damaged vehicles and downed communucations.

It's moving East, albeit slowly. Danielle should be hurricane strength this evening, infuencing Europe's weather for some time.
