yes, have a good look around as i don't think the pringle tin is the correct wavelenght for wifi. In france people use a much bigger tin used for a dodgy drink called "Ricoree".
If you can, use a pcmcia card with a pigtail that you can house in the vicinity of the antenna itself - then use a pcmcia to usb converter that you can plug to your laptop/machine. That way you have a minimum of coax cable and the most of the cable would be lossless usb
