Any sugestions about the size of a dish to get Intelsat 902 (62.0°E) Middle East Beem in Belgium? O-no

My position is: 4.21E - 50.51N

Some time ago at my home in Belgium with a 3.8 mtr and Professional ADI Dual feedhorn with a Echostar DVR7000HDD, and when there were the IRIB channels in Analogue, I could recieve them in almost perfect quality with bandwidth reduction applied.-(reduction of the bandwidth to approx 3db.)

How ever the same can not be accomplished for the now digitial channels,on a perfect evening I can just lock occasionally one or two of the transponders.

In short these transponder are quite well focused to the middles east around Iran, and I would not reccomend this pursuit, unless your budget is very large and is equally matched by your garden space.

Couldn't find any reliable reports of the middle eastern beam in western Europe anywhere , so guessed it might be a bit tricky.

Thanks to both of you, it was perfect and help me to forget about that ;) I heard about 400 cm Dish, but I think it was for Analogue and the frequency of digital is more powerful and I can got it with a 3db LNB and a 180 cm dish. So I am wrong. Thanks again for your fast and complete answer.

All Governmental Internal Iranian Official and province TV broadcast from Tehran on Intelsat 902 at 62 E and just cover Middle Eastern Countries from East of Turkey and Iraq to Saudi Arabia & United Arab Emirates untill Pakistan and Afghanistan you know.

You Can not Receive these TV Channels from Europe even in Belgium.

He can, in fact he did and explained to me a few things I needed to know about Iran. He may have very few posts but has been around here much longer than even me. By the way, why am I not able to upload an avatar on my profile? Tried a couple of times but the system is not accepting. What could be wrong? Have you de-activated the facility or something?

I thought the limit was 20 or so although it have been changed at some point and I missed it

No idea why you cant upload an avater - just make sure its not too big (pixel or kb size).

In Northern Greece a 3m gets them all but as you say the regional stations are much weaker so their reception is on the limit on this size there and not 24/7. The weakness can be explained with the cost effective bandwidth sharing. Transponders 61+62 are beeing used for the regional stations and transponder 65 just for the nationwide stations. 11555V is quite strong so even in Athens you can get it on 1.20m (weak). Reception is possible all over Eastern Europe and even up to Central Italy on very large 3.35m+3.7m Prodelin dishes.

I don't think that the majority of those that can receive them is interested in the content but in the fact that these signals are hard to catch, so pure interest in DX.

THE OTHER STATIONS IN SCPC ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO RECEIVE

I THINK THAT OUR FRIEND IN BELGIUM

NEED 5 METER SOLID DISH TO HAVE SOME CHANCE TO GET THE SIGNaL

someone report,around one year ago from zagreb,that i has iran tv with 1,50 m gibertini,i think the have change the beam,or the satelite is getting old!

is this the same programm then on hotbird?

for me the past is impossible to quantify
because i have the 3,7 m dish installed from JANUARY 08
so before that for my PRODELIN 1,8 M
the signal was impossible to get

i know that the old transponder used from IRIB 10973 V 27500
was a little bit stronger respect this new one
11555 v 27500
but unreceivable with 1,8 m at my location
i think that ZAGREB is respect my location
more EAST but also more NORTH
i dont think that no one can receive in CROATIA
the 11555 v 27500 with 1,5 m
for me is impossible
i dont think that the signal of this transponder
double the power in so little distance
from my location to zagreb
perhaps only 500 km
and with 500 km that signal dont reach the double of the power
respect my location
so my friend
the reception in CROATIA is possible for a 3 meter solid dish
i dont think in any case with a little 1,5 m gibby
the REGIONAL STATIONS
is unreceivable at my location
probably with a 4,5 m

is the maximum!
obviously the content of the IRANIAN STATE CHANNELS THERE
is not the same that go on HOTBIRD satellite
due to copyrights problems
in fact
them transmits also american movie
dubbed in FARSI
champions league especially on the 3 channel
and some ITALIAN SERIE A
matches
so is impossible to have on HOTBIRD this line up
they pay lease for a REGIONAL BEAM for this reason

About five years ago, the Iranian channels could be received in the SE part of the UK with a good 2m dish.

I used to be able to lock the IRIB channels when they were analogue using just a 1.2m dish! Needed full threshold extension and still got lots of sparklies, but the picture did lock!
