quick question

should my lnb arms meet more central then this? Or will the lnb bracket hold them in the right place?? Before I drill some holes

im wondering are they on the wrong panels? not sure if they should all just be the same tho

if i pull each arm left it lines up, so I think its just as theres no holder on it

Pipino, the LNB that he got with the dish was a Chaparral wideband ku but there was some issue and it couldn't be used. Maybe it wasn't a universal. Rolf knows the details but no one else in the thread seems to.

Wasn't familiar with the LNB, but was a dual band, 9750 and 10750 LO, couldn't get it to switch to high band and wasn't sure how to do it anyway as voltage switching produced a blank spectrum and 22Khz did nothing, also there is a mechanical polariser which is locked on one polarity.

Its not good news.

The bracket is being machined properly at my girlfriends dads work (he has proper tools).

He will make sure the lnb sits dead center of the dish.

The only down side is... I do not know what time im going to get it back tomorrow :'(

Well a day's delay doesn't seem to onerous a penalty to pay if you are confident it will end up as a "proper job".

Well the company he directs is one of the biggest engineering companys around here, they do huge jobs. So i know the machining will be absolutely spot on dead center of the bracket, and it will all be straight etc.

So I guess having to wait until later like you say is not so bad. Just really hope it all works ok

stop worrying gary!! i have a prime focus dish too and if the lnb is just 3/4mm too close it affects the performance greatly..you can see on your picks the lnb is too close!! i recon 3/4cm further back and it will be sweet...it took me a couple of days to fine tune mine!!! you cant fail on that beast

yes so did i...but i couldnt afford a cm so thought i,d have a go anyway...and i think it performs brilliantly 24/7 on 7w...and i,m quite a bit north, west of you guys in london, with comparable results...putting these petalised dishes together is the key...do it on a flat surface, put all the bolts in just finger tight...then tighten them up in a circular fashion and work your way down the dish!!! i,v strung it to check, and its nearly perfect...
i guarantee if i set it up in your garden badr 6 would be there on it!! as it will on your better made cm..

on your dish gary the lnb is clamped too far forward...your lnb holder doesnt want to be too long...so you can move the feed horn in and out a bit through the holder...on mine i can move it in/out about 6cm

Yeh i see what you mean mate.

Impressed you get 7W on that dish 24/7! Well done!

If my dish fails tomorrow on alignment, fancy coming down to help me check all petals are correct etc LOL

i,m a bit further up m8..3 miles off south yorkshire...plus you got rolf..
if you have a go tonight on your own use your tm receiver with strength meter and use a strong badr6 h transponder...
when you mount the lnb make sure the scaler ring is half screwed out..so when yo get near the sweet spot you can make the final adjustments screwing just the scaler ring in/out to nail it..
