Already have cheap lidl set up but i'm looking at getting tivusat because the inlaws get a little upset with some shows being scrambled. I have a sony bravia kdl-32v4500.

ould it be possible to buy just the tivusat cam and use this with the tv as it has a cam slot. Or will it be necessary to buy a tivusat receiver.
My better half will be going home to italy in a few weeks so would be looking for her to pick up whatever we need.
If i need a receiver can you recommend one.

The cam in the Sony television is only for terrestial use, not for satellite use, as it does not have a satellite tuner.

She will have to get a decoder and card then use her codice fiscale to register it to her Italian address.

Alternatively, you could buy a satellite receiver which will take the official Tivùsat CAM and card but you will not get the EPG, only now & next. O-no

Have a look at the official site _www.tivu.tv

definitely you need a receiver as the Sony kdl has no satellite tuner, as hexa correctly stated

I imagine you want the HD service too (even if actually limited to RAI HD): you need a HD STB + Tivùsat CAM + card

Tivùsat CAM is not compatible with any receiver but I know it works perfectly with XDome, you can find a bundle offer XDome HD+ Tivùsat CAM + Tivùsat card for about 260 € in some italian webshops (no codice fiscale is even required, though)

XDome HD 1000NC is a HD receiver, combo dvb-s2 + dvb-t, officialy Sky Italia certified (NDS card reader), able to move the dish with 22kHz ± 4kHz Tone, DiSEqC 1.0, 1.2, 1.3 (USALS) protocols, unfortunately not PVR ready

Tivùsat complete EPG can be easily viewed in most receivers, I use a couple of not-Tivùsat certified receivers and they show the weekly EPG for Tivùsat channels
