ITV in Gothenburg ?

hej . since beeb have done the dirty , is anyone in or around gothenburg receiving any signals from 2D ?
they still manage in other parts of sweden , so i am damned if i'm gonna give this up . also my local cable guy says its impossible - now theres a challenge!
how big a dish does the trick ? someone out there please HELP .

There is talk from time to time of people in Stockholm/Borlänge being able to get 2d on dishes between 85cm and 100cm and that there could be a sidelobe in that general region. Whether this applies to the Gbg area or not, I just don't know. It might be worth your while trying other LNBs before comitting to a new dish.

I know of a couple of people, one on stockholm and another in Dalarna, they can get 2D on 1m ish type dish... it appears there is a "hot spot" in central sweden. (although I did see a 2.4 in borlange the other week, what's that for ?? :-)

But it seems that this hotspot dose not extend down as far as Gbg Lan

last year I and another ex-pat managed to get an ITV picture using a borrowed channelmaster 1.2 and a Pace digibox. We were in Bollybygd ( not far from Gothenberg ) . I have now got a Grundig box and aim to do a test in the near future. I'll keep you posted.

I live 5 minutes from the town near Tuve on Hisingen.
I am waiting to recieve my sky dish + reciever from the UK this week so
I have no input yet to the astra 2D debate in Göteborg.

Managed to get in 2D yesterday although the BBC pictures were breaking up in the evening. ITV was fine even at 900 pm. I haven't tried rotating the LNB as yet and there are still a few trees in line which need a clip or too. I'm planning on trying some LNB adjustments in the coming days.

The dish is a Salora dish which I picked up second hand. ITV seems to be strong all day ( i gave up looking at 10pm yesterday evening ) although the BBC TV channels suffer from some pixalation after 9pm. BBC radio was OK. At the moment the tests have been done on a 2m cable- I will need a 20-30 metre run eventually so I don't know how that will affect things. I'll keep you in touch.

living in the middle of kållered i dont think the neighbours (or even the misses ) would be too pleased . I think i could get away with up to 1.2m , but would it work ?

pleased to know someones succeded anyway and able to watch tweenies and chucklevision - i'll send the kids round !
PS is it on a sky digibox ?
