Is it time to sell Fabregas? He's been useless since Van Persie's absence...

I'm tempted but Arsenal are unlikely to fall into an Liverpool-esque downward spiral in my opinion, and Fabregas will probably be pushed up when possible to provide Eduardo with better service, Eduardo being more of an out-and-out striker than Van Persie. I wouldn't be at all surprised if Arsenal now go for someone in January, Chamakh possibly, but then again this is Wenger we're talking about!

UniSat Results
IUF Grabs 34-37 UMBAA Laugh
Donkeytown 26-13 Dogs Bollox
Badm******s 35-58 Purple Mob
Satellites RED 50-24 Rapscallions
Mucho Calor Huy! 30-42 RED United
AC Few 34-33 Toondrastic

The group stages came to end last week with the biggest scalps being Juventus and Liverpool. Going into the winter hibernation of the Champions League, T_G remains on top with victory over scally's Rapscallions scoring 50pts thanks yet again to the heroics of a certain Mr Ronaldo of Real Madrid, scoring twice in the the Galaticos' 3-1 win over Marseille.

Satellites RED, however, are still tying on points with RED United, as T_G Jnr beat SupaLiga champions Mucho Calor Huy! (mhku) 42 to 30, 6pts coming via Bayern man between the sticks and penalty scorer versus Juve, Hans-Jorg Butt.

Den League's only representative in the all-important top 4 is neilzilla, but the Dogs will have to avoid any more poor performances like last week, scoring a miserable 13pts against Norm's Donkeytown, who are themselves badly struggling domestically.

Six of the 12 teams are stuck on 9pts, including Den champions UMBAA Laugh as sonic's men condemned IUF Grabs to a fourth defeat. sonic is tying in 5th place with awd whose Few team narrowly took all 3 points against malcolm's Toondrastic, stopping malc getting off the mark by just 1pt. Badm******s have also fallen into that group, following tom's squad going down 58-35 to mb63's Purple Mob

Sorry about the lack of Cup previews, they updated it rather late and it's been a nightmare getting things done with the snow over the weekend!

First and foremost, MERRY CHRISTMAS one and all :-thumbup

Qualifying - GW17

Nearly all of us made it through qualifying, with the only casualties being Badm******s and Drighlington Dream.

Round 1 - GW18

Some of the big SL hitters are already out of the Cup. Last season's top Cup team, Norm's Donkeytown, made it to Round 6 last term but fell at the first hurdle this time, going down to FC Roma 46-37. My team Dynamo Sol went out in somewhat cruel fashion, losing 34 to 30 against Sullivan's Winners of the Top Footy Brain Cup. rolfw will also feel bitter about his elimination, as Satellites Screwballs were defeated 31-28 by Big Sam's Total Footi from Team Yorkshire league. T_G's Satellites RED were also narrowly put to the wall by Cool, 44-41. Also out: Toondrastic, MU Super Reds, Tossers, RED United, Premier CFC (PS, notice how all the 'RED' teams are out!)

The SupaLiga champions, mhku's Mucho Calor Huy!, did make it through though only just, coming through against Devil's Rejects of the Tesco Allstar league 47 to 44 points. Creatures (kreacher) also had to endure a tight contest to advance, kicking Kick Up The Crouch out with a 36-33 win. Two of the bottom three, Weepio Pirates and Athletica Booshank, are still flying the flag for SL. Calcio Carlo Ancelotti, Paraletic Athletic, Dragoes do Blackburn, Scumdee, Bordersat, Dragoes and Rainbow Warriors have all advanced to Round 2.

If you go to your 'My Team' page, you'll notice on the grey panel where your shirt and points info is that 'Fantasy Cup' is now there. It's all part of the FPL experience (apparently, I wouldn't know 'cos I've always done piss poor in it :-googly).

:-hny Hopefully the new year will bring you much luck and adventure (and more Fantasy points!).

Firstly, as I should have stated but you'll have probably worked out, December Manager of the Month will be announced sometime after this Gameweek.

Secondly, as I previously mentioned I was on the look out for a African Cup of Nations competition for us to play in replacement for no Christmas Crunch this season (newbies will have no idea what I'm on about, but don't worry :-googly). I've found one, so if you'd like to join SupaLiga @ Africa Cup of Nations 2010, go to the website - *CANCELLED* - sign up etc etc and enter using the league code: *CANCELLED*
I'll be including a reminder of this on following posts until the start of the tournament, Sunday January 10th with Angola v Mali. Only 332 people have joined the whole website so far so there might be a chance of winning the whole thing considering our collective experience (unless FISO enter :-Cgrin), and it might just give us clues for the other event in Africa this summer....
