Thanks for the info about Canal Digitaal. The TVCorner offer you linked to is much cheaper than the one I've seen on the Satellite Shop (120 euros against £199!), but the monthly sub is much higher (34.95 against 29.95). also it's not clear to me whether you have to buy a receiver from TV Corner as well?
I checked with TV Corner about subscription possibility to Canal Digitaal outside Netherland and they told me that
"Only European residents can get access to Canal digitaal package. Furthermore, you need to receive signal from Astra 19.2 & 23.5° east"
This means you can indeed subscribe, if you are serious about getting Mezzo.
The bad news for me is that I can't subscribe to Canal Digitaal.
You will need your dish to point to Astra 19.2 & 23.5° east (the reason being that not all channels are on one satellite) and I would recommend adding Hotbird 13E as there are some providers there for Mezzo SD if you think you can live with that.
As for the satellite receiver, I recommend the Mutant HD51 because it supports 4K and also CI+ CAM module and will give you more flexibility in the future. If you buy the M7 dedicated receiver, you are stuck with it.
You can also try to subscribe directly from the Canal Digitaal website. Their CI+ CAM is cheaper only 99 Euro, if you can manage to browse and understand the pages in Dutch. Shipment cost to the UK € 17,50
