my LAN network has been in gigabit mode since I got fiber. one branch in 100mb and the other in 1000mb.
I test the different sf8008 (4 at the moment) on the same branch (1000mb).
results:
the single (2018) no longer connects or not often,
the 2018 combo model caps at 100mb and the recent 2020 combos connect at 1000mb.
the single may be faulty but between the 2018 combo and the 2020 combo I can't find the difference (I put the same backup everywhere, an openatv 7.3).

I had the same problems with an AX HD51, which also disappeared from the network several times after starting.
Here it was due to a switch (10/100 Digitus switch) which could no longer cope with the new Fritzbox7590,
only replacing the switch helped.
With the new TP-Link TL-SG 105 (10/100/1000) the problem was solved.

I finally detected a configuration problem:
my sf8008 simple dvb-s2x tuner (2018) almost no longer connected to the LAN network since I upgraded the fiber router to 1 gigabit.
more recent models like the gold combo or double dvbs2x connect at 1000M.
my 2018 combo connects in 100M!!!!
I put a 100m lan switch between the gigabit network and the old SF8008 and it works again.

for many years i had my adsl box (100m) followed by lan switchs on each output .
on one branch i have a 10/10/1000 switch on another 10/100 switch .
my 2 sf8008 worked perfectly !!!
when i change my adsl box to fiber box , output of all branch became 1000M .
my single sf8008 does nt like it !!!
i connect it behind a old switch (10/100) and it is happy !!!!!!!!

excuse me if im stating the obvious here - just want to explain something:

firstly - all devices you buy, will state in their specs if they have either an inbuilt 100mbps switch or a 1000mbps (gigabit \ 1gbps) - this is why you will see different network results depending on model.

it has nothing to do with the internet you're subscribing to - just how recent the router is, and what the inbuilt switch is.

secondly - as soon as you introduce a 100Mbps switch after router connection (or if the router is old and only has 100mbps switch, rather than a gigabit switch) then all devices will report 100mbps only - regardless if you introduce a 1Gb switch further down "the line" unless you have something talking directly across that switches segment, i.e a NAS talking to a pc both plugged into the same switch.

first switch and gateway are in the internet box .
that s why i go from 100m to gigabit .
secondary switchs are gigabit compliant .
i have just noticed that sf8008 made with 2018 board are 100m and board from 2020 are 1000M
on octagon site they just say 1gigabit !!
my sf8008 single (model 2018) stop to work perfectly when it was on gigabit port .
now i just add an old switch (100m) on a gigabit port and its working well .
