838 Pakistani channel Geo TV finally launched
839 Zee Gurjurati launched. FTA at the moment, expected to go encrypted in about a month.

Sky Digionline have broken the news that the epg will start carrying 4 digit numbers from late this year


The epg menu will also be revamped, with two new categories being added, "Lifestyle & Culture" and "Gaming & Dating"

Men & Motors reported to be closing at the end of April. This probably means we can look forward to ITV4 replacing it sometime after this point.

Red Hot channel changes:

Red Hot Only 18 has moved from channel number 976 to 982 replacing Red Hot Euro. Red Hot Rears (labelled as Red Hot R in the EPG) is now available on 976.

Red Hot UK Talent on 981 has became Red Hot Climax while Red Hot Films on 983 has been renamed Red Hot Movies.

Time for an update on whats been happening over the last couple of weeks.

17th April 2005: Many changes for the shopping channels & non-English language channels. TV Travel shop 1&2 on 631/632 have become iBuy/ iBuy 2. Vectone 4U on 831 has become Vectone Punjab. SAB on 829 has become MATV National.

18th April 2005: Life +2 on 161, After a 4 month absence, Fashion rejoined the platform on 220 but is now not a fta channel but part of the basic pay pack.
On Northern Ireland subscription cards, RTE 1 is now on 267, RTE 2 on 268, & TG 4 on 269.

22nd April 2005: FX 289 moves from 289 to 270 and becomes just FX. Sky Vegas Live moved from 295 to 272

25th April 2005:** 5 changes with 3 additions today. On 274 we say hello to "Vegas 24/7" / 336 is "Matinee Movies" / 339 is "Bad Movies". 333 has rebranded to "True Movies", and "Travel Channel 2" has morphed into "Travel Channel +1" instead.

Virgin Radio Classic Rock reported starting on Sunday (1st May)

Virgin Classic Rock now confirmed to be launching on 934 as a temporary measure. They will be moving epg numbers during the big shake up due in the autumn.

(934 is currently labelled as "Radio" and is running a barker loop from WRN.)

Jazz FM (917) will be rebranded as Smooth FM on 7th June. Will this see the current Smooth FM (the Manchester variant) rebranded to Smooth FM North West?


Religioous service Loveword will be joining the platform in May. Its been available on 13E Hotbird for a while and is truly dreadful

In the Autumn, Propeller TV will be starting, showcasing content from Yorkshire and the Humber.

E4 will be going 24 hours in the near future.

Jackpot TV has started on 275

Yet another new shopping channel announced. Home2 is planning to start later in the year

Overload on 166 has rebranded to TTV.(Transact TV)

Latest update:

South Asia World will launch on 540 on 2nd June It will be fta for a month or so before scrambling. Currently testing on 11.343V (52355)

E4 & E4+1 have moved onto Astra 2D. Its VERY likely Channel 4 will be moving there too in the near future. Anyone outside the 2D footprint can wave goodbye to E4 & E4+1. (For the time being you can Add Channel on 11565 V 27500 2/3, but this will cease in the near future).

Jackpot TV launched on 12th May on 275.

Currently testing on 276 - Big Game TV

Sound TV has moved off 588 to 277

DM Digital (fta) = 841 (an asian channel)
ATN Bangla = 842

That TV was due to launch today, but has not showed up yet, and we havent tracked down any tests yet.

PTV Prime (815) will be fta for a couple of weeks in July.
