Hi, I bought this tv today, I am just about to set it up and have a look what its like, the reviews look ok, I will post a few pictures up later on .

Thanks A/S, I only looked at a few reviews, I didn't realise until I unpacked it that it had a satellite tuner in it, I think the voice commands sold it me lol.

Apparently if supports: Codec HEVC: 4K/60p, indicated in its characteristics.
I have the LG 40UB800V (LG says that if, satellite does not support 4k) for "workshop" for the resolution, I use it as a monitor for your entries, has a major drawback, the management of the TDT / satellite channels.
Used to manage channels of Enigma tuners, it is like going back to the stone age.

Aparentemente si soporta Codec HEVC: 4K/60p, indicado en sus caracteristicas.
Tengo el LG 40UB800V (dice LG que si, pero no soporta 4k por satelite) para el "taller" (cuarto trastos) por la resolucion, lo uso como monitor por sus entradas, tiene una gran pega, la gestion de los canales TDT/satelite.
Acostumbrado a gestionar los canales de los sintonizadores Enigma, es como volver a la edad de piedra.

Which I have not, use your database tp's you have and those frequencies does not.
Then I looked back, lest memory fail.

El que tengo no, utiliza su base de datos de tp's que tiene y esas frecuencias no las tiene.
Luego lo miro de nuevo, no sea que falle la memoria.

The first port of call would be 28.2° east to test the 4K Demo loop channel to see what all the fuss is about, Not familiar with the LG's but have set up a couple of Samsung Curved 4K's and there in-built Sat tuner displayed the test channel fine.

Panasonic however not seen it myself just from other reports from users of there 4K TV's that the demo channel will not display any picture just the Audio, When questioned apparently Panansonic did not include the Necessary Codec needed for the current batch of 4K test channels.

Will be interesting to see if the LG is OK

Yep, blind search works.
Confuses how it works, 10700V and looking after 10700H and seeks, as with the high band 11700V and 11700H.

For testing use the satellite Intelsat 25 to 31'5ºW, on TV Intelsat 903 at 33'5ºW not have any tp factory.
Locate 5tp assets:
10889V27500 ... ??? (Hispasat 30W verified)
12283V2200 ... OK
12340V2120..OK
12343V2120..OK
11000H5529..KO clue.?? (surely Hispasat)

TM2, Cherifla TV, ORTM and Default Service.
OK 100%, it works.

Pues si, funciona la busqueda ciega.

Despista como funciona, 10700V y busca, luego 10700H y busca, lo mismo con la banda alta 11700V y 11700H.

Para las pruebas use el satelite Intelsat 25 a 31'5ºW, en la TV el Intelsat 903 a 33'5ºW que no tiene de fabrica ningun tp.
Localiza 5tp activos:
10889V27500...??? (Hispasat 30W verificado)
12283V2200...OK
12340V2120..OK
12343V2120..OK
11000H5529..KO ni idea.?? (seguramente Hispasat)

TM2, Cherifla TV, ORTM y Default Service.
OK 100%, funciona.

SR 2120 .....ok
Testing in Hispasat with such low SR (500-700-1010).
Probando en Hispasat que tal con SR bajos (500-700-1010).

Sees SR500, he added tp hand.
11648V500 .... Radio Tenerife.

Performing a new search in:
11647V500 .... Radio Toledo.
Machaca previous search.

If I can keep:
11647V500 Radio Toledo
11651V500 Radio Valladolid
It may take up to 1 minute to signal, then stop search and add.
It is clear that SR 500 will not like, but can with them.

Con busqueda ciega sin problemas hasta SR700.
No ve SR500, añadido el tp a mano.
11648V500....Radio Tenerife.

Realizando una nueva busqueda en:
11647V500....Radio Toledo.
Machaca la anterior busqueda.

Si puedo mantener:
11647V500 Radio Toledo
11651V500 Radio Valladolid
Puede tardar hasta 1 minuto en dar señal, entonces deja buscar y añadir.
Esta claro que SR 500 no le gustan, pero puede con ellos.

The only UHD channel I can find any information about at 28E Digi was encrypted a few days ago 12441 ?, grandkids will be here shortly so I will take a look after tea.

Pity that as you say looks like they encrypted it now for some reason, The last time i tried it was still FTA you could always try on the Motorised dish one of the others if they are still FTA

Many thanks that's the list I am working from, I do have a full sky sub, I could try attaching the tv to the sky box ?, I will work my way through the list after tea and see what I can get,

Hi Martin,

The only way to view any of the 4K satellite channels at this moment in time is directly through the Built in Satellite tuner on the TV itself as there are no commercial Satellite receivers available at present that can resolve a 4K picture.

The Samsung Curved 4K's that i setup for customers all had a Built in Satellite IF input on the TV itself for Freesat, obviously you change from Freesat Mode into Standard and scan on the TP frequency for the 4K channel.

I do know that LG do not pay for the Freesat Licensing so any inbuilt satellite tuner will just do a bog standard scan on any satellite, after looking at your model of TV from the Manual it is unclear if there is a built in satellite tuner in the TV itself.

If your 4k set doesn't have built-in sat tuner you could try upnp streaming from your pc. It works with my Samsung UHD TV set. Media server is the dvbviewer recording service. Though the Samsung has also a built-in DVB-S2 tuner ;)

Its got a sat tuner installed, but as far as knew when I bought it there was no sat tuner, like I said in my earlier post it was the voice activated bit that sold it me , i don't watch much tv, my hobby is feeds and fringe so i wont be looking at uhd much even if it will open it, but i will do some tests, a few pictures of the sat menu.

Hello, occupation band width with new 4K compression H.264 and H.265 codec not HEVC occupies exactly half ie 4K would occupy exactly the same, now 4k 3840x2160 1920x1080 and it really is not 4K as they say if UHD not, that is, the standard provides 4K DCI 4,096 x 2,160 pixels and color quality of 12 bits, while the UHD has 3,840 x 2,160.
What will be needed is available for HEVC codecs.

Hola, la ocupación de ancho de bandas con los nuevas compresiones para 4K H.265 no H.264 y codec HEVC ocupa exactamente la mitad es decir 4K ocuparia exactamente lo mismo, ahora 1920x1080 y 4k 3840x2160 que realmente no es 4k como se dice si no UHD, es decir, el estándar DCI 4K ofrece 4.096 x 2.160 píxeles y calidad de color de 12 bits, mientras que el UHD dispone de 3.840 x 2.160.
Lo que si será necesario es disponer de los codecs para HEVC.

PD:
