LNBs

So the dark gold is now on the dish.

It performs excellently on some transponders compared to the Inverto Blue PLL but on others, it is marginally better.

On feeds it appears to perform the same as the PLL.

I have a Black Ultra on its way so will compare that to the PLL and Darkgold.

Well my long necked Black Ultra HGLN came and I am really disappointed with it.

It has performed no better than my Blue PLL and worse than the Dark Gold.

It is an IDLB-SINL40-ULTRA-OPP.

Did I buy the wrong one or something?

Might just be some LNBs are better suited to some dishes more than others. Did you try adjusting the in/out position of the LNB? Might need a declination tweak too.

I think that may possibly be the case with this one.

I did various adjustments and also tried the LNB at different positions in the holder!

It was no better than the shorter pll blue.

Well, it appears the Darkgold is dead already. Turned on my receiver last night and every channel had horrendous pixilation and the signal quality bar was diving all over the place.

Stuck an old TM-1 I have on and normal service resumed.

I am replacing it with a Golden Media GM201.
