Trying to fine tune a channel with my motek 2100 using a D800 with Gemini 5. I have the channel fine tuned and then stored on 1 and if I select it does go to it and I can see the signal increase but once I exit the motor just turns back to the original position whether I click yes or no on the zap. Bit annoying does anyone know what the problem is ?

Sounds like USALs is taking control. Are you using DiSEqC 1.2 setting?

I think I am using USALS to turn the motor - I have positioner and lat and long selected for motor control.

Should I change it ?

You should either use USALS or Diseqc1.2, i.e one or the other for each satellite, whichever seems to work best for you and your receiver.

Switching to Diseqc seemed to work a treat.

Cheers

Result, although time consuming tweaking and saving.

Sounds like that other Thread recently where a slight misalignment over time, perhaps due to inclement weather, means USALS doesn't properly correlate: So, if it's only a few tenths out, just altering the stored Longitude a tiny bit could be effective.
