Advice Needed Motorised setup

Hope everyone is safe and well after UK peaked Covid 19 and now we see the light end of the tunnel
I planed for 1 meter motorised dish I ordered through through Amazon seller was HM sat
Dish arrived damaged so I returned it.
credit to HM sat they arranged free return and issued full refund.
Then few of my friends wanted same thing but small dish.
Then another turn in the story as I checked my house deed it says no dish on the front elevation of the house and front garden. But I can put the dish up on the side of house. it’s a new built area so better stick to the conditions.
House is south facing so dish can only go on the side. 1 meter was not possible as dish Mount Bracket will be fixed to the side of the house and comes out towards front a bit to get space to turn.
so I decided to get 75 cm instead and ordered the following
75 cm Gibertini XP
Octagon sx88+se
Technomate TM-2600
Satix swh00500 mount bracket 50 cm
Premium X 25cm balcony bracket
Tomtrend waterproof F connector 7mm
Inverto ultra twin
Wf100 coax cable 20 meter
Got a small old television
Yesterday installed a mount on the wall then a balcony mount coming towards front they both are very safe and strong then I put motor on then dish
I added latitude and longitude on sX88
Motor latitude is set to 56 as it is 55.87
Lnb is at 0
Send motor to centre which I assumed is zero
Then I send motor to 0.8 Thor
Connect the cable direct to lnb
and I found signal on Thor which is 50%
Can you please assist me from here thank you
I can also confirm that HM sat delivered dish in perfect condition as I asked them to do better packaging very happy with the dish quality give HM sat 10 out of 10.

To finish the job, peak the signal in two ways:

1. Gently rotate the entire motor/dish assembly around the mounting pole - If the 50% signal actually is from Thor rather than another nearby Satellite position, the movement required will be very small.

2. Adjust the dish bracket, again very slightly.

How do you know the signal you have got is from Thor? You will need to do a scan and tell us the names of some of he Channels you are getting.

Looks like you have found Thor, but the signal level should be higher - firstly try, very slightly/gently, adjusting the elevation up and down, and hopefully the signal level will rise.

So, are you asking (or are you even asking??) if that looks roughly correct ? I think it probably does but are you now getting any channels on 28E and what is the signal level like?

No, it should NOT be vertical on 28E! As you move away from Thor, the dish should tilt more and more in the direction shown on your photos as you go East - and should tilt in the opposite direction as you go West!

First off your pictures show a basic L pole/bracket, which aren't the best. Have you checked that this is perfectly plumb, and strong enough for your dish, and motor?

Try going to 4.8E and scanning in Channel 5 Ukraine, 11747 V 30000 DVB-S2 8PSK 3/4, then 5W, M6 11096 V 29950 DYB-S2 8PSK 3/4, and post the results, and signal quality readings.

Do NOT move the dish on it's own to find the other sats. Mount the dish and align it with the centre line on the motor stub. After you have done this, do NOT move it round the motor stub. Rotate the whole motor and dish assembly for best results on Thor, then peak the dish elevation. Use usals to drive the dish to another satellite and check for results. I'd also check to see if the mount you have the dish and motor on is plumb, as I think you are using two L brackets...

If you have a fairly good result from Thor, there is no need to move the dish elevation right now. Theoretically, if you use USALS when you select another satellite (E.G. 5E) you should get a result straightaway. If not, the mounting bracket may be grossly out of plumb. Have you checked that the mast is vertical, both east to west and north to south?

That is true for fixed dishes, not motorised

Another point to note: the "dish elevation" is actually a combination of the angular setting of the motor on the mast (as usually marked on the bracket that holds the motor to the mast - and that's normally around 50 degrees in the UK, but gets lower as you Latitude becomes further North) AND the dish "declination" which is the angular setting of the dish mount on the motor stub (that is usually stated in the specification for the dish and is around 21 degrees for Gibertini XP series dishes - although they term it the "Offset pointing angle"!) . You have to get both correct for the dish to track correctly across the arc.
