TM "lost the plot" from time to time many times years ago (my , now "ex" as it' on it's way to nelson,, DAPCI was an example as when I complained about the lack of updates, I got a "vitriolic" response from the UK importer!) and never really caught up again. The 5402 in it's various iterations, was a "good shot", but the f/w and other updates never kept pace with the "current situation". OTOH, my two are still quite useful for basic setup tasks (and, seemily, almost as sensitive as the SX88s, et al!:)).

Having slewed the 60cm dish round from 5E to 5W this afternoon Ive managed some multistream reception. Signal strengths arent great and a couple of the Italian frequencies are below lock but its my first time watching MS - just a shame theres nothing actually worth watching :D I may well realign the 80cm round to give me a reasonable sized dish on the 5E- 5W part of the arc and repurpose the 60cm onto 30W seeing as theres not really a lot of interest on the HippoSat part of the arc.

Christ this E2 s/w is bloody annoying. Trying to set the wifi up for the networking. Its seeing the house wifi absolutely fine. Its connecting absolutely fine. Then after a couple of seconds its dropping the wifi connection. After 10 seconds are so it reconnects., Then drops it for good.

That symptom reminds me of a seemingly identical issue with my Linx 1010 Tablet ...... it has a Realtek Wifi Adapter that adamantly refuses to work on or above Channel 10.

May I suggest you set a manual Channel somewhere in mid-range?

Didn't realise the Mutant had WiFi... I just plug it into wired network.

It doesnt - I bought the recommended wifi dongle for it as cabling it in is going to be a complete barsteward. Ive tried another one as well which I know is good - same result.

TBH, wired Ethernet is the only way you can get reliable connections with most Rx.

Sounds like a driver issue, have you tried downloading a compatible driver, using your plugin options?
There was a method, where you could run your cable, via your electric wall sockets, but I can't recall the name of them, or how efficient they were.

Homeplugs.

Early ones were "noisy", but newer ones are clean and effective.

How new should new be? Mine are from 2012-14 but I found them very underwhelming. I just run a well hidden CAT6 cable everywhere I need connectivity. WiFi is purely for phones and tablets (even my laptop is wired).

Im already using homeplugs as the phone point is in a completely useless position in this gaff. I'll see about getting another one to add in & as its rented I cant start knocking holes through..

Ive given up on the bloody Mut@nt. I cant be bothered to fight with the fkin awful E2 any longer - Ive got better things to do with my life. So Ive ordered another TM5402 & I shall look into repairing the old one to use outside when Im setting up my dishes & lnb's

Having got interested in Eutmetsat delivery via 10E I need to get an lnb set up for that and see if I can get some pictures - Ive got the decryption dongle for it and theres a partially assembled computer for the TBS card to go into - the computer build will be completed in the next few days.

So the new TM5402 arrived yesterday so a couple of hours last night & its all set up and running nicely. The wifi dongle that I bought for the HD51 and which never worked with it is absolutely fine with the TM5402. :D

Ive nudged the 9E lnb round a bit and managed to pick up a couple of tp from 10E which is a new catch here. More work needed as Im only getting these 2 frequencies

The CRT died at least 3 years ago :D

5402 might be getting on a bit but at least every time I use it I dont get an irrational urge to take it outside and beat the crap out of it with a big hammer :-rofl2
