I currently have SkyQ and have purchased a Freesat 4k recordable box. I thought it would be an idea to check the new Freesat box before my SkyQ is cancelled but the Freesat box can't find any channels.

Could this be due to my sky subscription being live (I am just taking the cables from the sky box and putting them into the freesat box) or do I need to call out an expert ?

Many thanks

you will need to make sure the Freesat box is set to wideband LNB, if it still doesn't work, then swap the coax cables around, one is vertical and the other horizontal.

It should work, the Sky Q subscription does not change how the dish and LNB works.

If you go Settings -> System Information -> Signal Info what do the signal bars show and what is shown next to Type?

You could try swapping the cables or a factory reset.

Thanks everyone. The factory reset seems to have worked. I am one of those people with an amazing ability to break anything techie so I really should know by now to always start with a switch it off an on again! Many thanks, you've saved me an engineer call out fee :)
