Yes, exactly that. IMO it's a much more versatile and unlimited solution compared to the inbuilt Multiboot solution. With OMB you can boot as many images as you like.

Looks like an interesting box. Might get myself one to play with although I will have to find an HDMI to something converter - HDMI is no good to me!.

What is the point getting a 4K receiver when the TV doesn't even have HDMI? Or is it so you can receive a handful of multistream transponders?

(Semi)confirmation via the OpenATV forum:
Blindscan is coming to HD51 for the Silabs DVB-S2X tuners very very soon. The functionality will be the same as the Dreambox Silabs ones (meaning hardware blindscan in drivers)!
Good news (and time to get my own copy I think)!

A long time ago, I accepted that if something doesn't exist on a receiver (any receiver, not just E2) at the time of purchase, it will never exist. Anything else is a bonus.

Very true, however it's a first for HD51, they cleverly avoided announcing promises they don't vow to keep! We'll see!

Is there more information on this issue?
Ooft mate I bought one of these receivers on the run up to Xmas as my Xtrend 9500HD died after less than 15 months (#punchmakersintheface) anyway, move sat and it sits there on the channel doing naff all for about 40 seconds or more before it decides to display the channel, SD, unencrypted.....awful, Vix image.

Thankfully, I don't satellite surf very often. I either switch between LNBs on the T90 or switch between the T90 and the motorised dish where this issue isn't present.

I do wish all manufacturers stopped released half-baked, half-tested products/drivers. And now they are talking about bringing new features in without fixing basic functionality first. It's like fitting new tyres to a car that has a non-functional engine...

Totally bloody useless for any kind of sat searching then.......We are just beta testers for some of this stuff obviously...not good!
The olders days saw software and kit properly beta tested before it was released to the public..

Beta testing would imply that we would eventually get broken/never-worked functionality fixed at some point. Which isn't the case...

Yip I'd say so my good man, I just really needed a PVR capable twin tuner receiver for the £150 mark as the Xtrend's PSU had went t*t's up and my choice was take the Amiko Alien 2+ out of retirement........."Oh hell NO!". The box has a lot of plus points, 4K capable, had enough space for me to caddy a 3.5 HDD in it rather than the 2.5 it's supposed to have, fast boot times and really really cool in operation........but the channel demodulation time is absolutely maddening, worst receiver I have EVER owned in this respect across all platforms i.e. E2 and standard closed source.

That's true with all modern tech, at least it's only Apple that have the brass balls to purposely make your "old" hardware redundant via pushed software downloads lol

As I said above this is a closed source driver issue, reported to the manufacturer nearly 6 months ago. Nothing to do with the image. Whatever image you load on it will exhibit the same problem.

Glad I never tried another image or version then seeing as it would be a waste of time.

On other forums people with the new S2X tuner say they cannot confirm the bug.

I'll need to test other images then. I have S2X tuner and the bug is definitely there. Nice tuner though...

No. If it is there it is the drivers. So no point image hopping.

I still haven't tested some older images with older drivers. Though, like you said, it might not work well/at all with the Silabs one.
