I knew it is bended, but did not think that so much! :eek: It has happened during last move. I did not take antenna apart, just put it in the truck as it is, and there is result. Distance between vertical and horizontal treads is about 15mm.
Before I measured this bend I spent lots of time tweaking antenna trying to get full arc, but discovered that it is impossible. Maximum I could achieve was more or less OK-reception from 28,2*E-5*W. Will let stay like this some time, I am tired sitting on that balcony.
Have an idea how to eliminate this bend. Will do that from behind of antenna by string attached to horizontal axe.

What a great read this thread has been.... ¿dedication to our hobby or what?

Noticed that you have or have had a First Strike sat meter.....how do you personally rate this meter as I am intending to buy one, having read conflicting good and bad reports from users your comments will help me decide.

Thanks for your help.

Be safe :)

First Strike meter is very good and very fast at locking signals. The only issue is that it won't lock DVB-S2 but will show quality/SNR etc.

Yes, hobby, perhaps even obsession :(
First Strike: In one word, answer would be "Good", in two words "Not good" o_O Joke.
But seriously, there are:
pluses
- locks signal very fast
- easy to change satellite's and frequencies list
and minuses:
- battery died in less than a year;
- need hand #3 to be able to work with LNB and hold FS1;
- not locking DVBS-2;
- lacking web-interface (but that is probably apply to majority of meters);

Instead of it I use Enigma2 Signal meter installed on PS, or similar application on android phone.
If you wish, you can have mine for lets say.... 100 EUR plus shipping.

Hi, I think I just got deal on this 1,4m plastic (seems quiet fresh) for only 30 EUR.
I already have 90cm and 120cm dishes from same brand, and happy with their performance. So, new dish will provide good company to smaller sisters.

Nice these are hard to find even used.

The v bolts that clamp the pole are they 4 inch as I can't find the piece of paper that had the details.

I'm looking for some better galvanised ones as the factory clamps are rusted slightly.

I already have couple of INOX-made U-bolts for 75mm pole. Will see maybe they fit.

They might or you may have to mod the mount with new bolt holes.

A really good motor just a shame no one could start up production of the motors again as the moteck h180 was rubbish.

Looks like these motors are pretty much indestructible. I don't know of a single one that failed through use. Hopefully, if something breaks inside, it would be easy to refurbish. Certainly, SSS do refurbished units for inflated prices, so there must be parts available somewhere.

Made a lot of mess in the garage, than it was quiet a challenge to bring construction to the balcony. Heavy and bulky, you know :eek:. I am happy I did not take 3m pieces of wood, but only 2,4m, anyway construction did not fit in the elevator, so, took stairs o_O
But now I have platform for 2 antennas.IMAG0117 (Large).jpg IMAG0119 (Large).jpg IMAG0121 (Large).jpg IMAG0123 (Large).jpg

UPS man just came and brought me this. One of the bolts lost its head, just too rusty, threaded piece still inside aluminum . And yes, motor has some mileage, perhaps it worked not so far from sea. Aluminum details have corrosion, but still is all rusted. Will spend some time fixing all that stuff.
Captain Jack, thanks for help. Enjoy your Caribbean journey.

I've never any BU modded for PFA. My favorite LNB for PFA, by now, is GI-209P. GI-209P comes from shop with original 120* holder (gray color). Yes, that holder is not INOX, not so shiny, but does the job well. Unfortunately, majority of my sat-toys located almost 2000km from me and I can not take fresh pictures.
Talking about LNB-holder for PFA: I have 2 of them custom made, one is for 40mm LNB, and another one for C-band LNB but also adjustable for Ku-band LNB. And this is not very cheep TBH.
