To see what is inside and to take potentially usable parts such as feedhorns, demolished several old LNBs. Even if they were in working condition.... I doubt they could be used for SAT-reception. IMG_20170104_204327 (Custom).jpg
Also gave cleaning to three Ku-band adjustable feedhorns for PFA. Will do polishing of the waveguides when I get the proper tool. IMG_20170104_133256 (Large).jpg IMG_20170104_133347 (Large).jpg
Question: Should I cover bare aluminum with lacquer or let it stay like this?

Have tuned motorized Fibo 120 to the arc. From end to end it takes little bit more than 1 minute. Can get signals from 35 (perhaps couple more) Ku satellites. Small video is HERE.

Well knowing my weaknesses (at lest one of them :-rofl2 ) friend of mine presented to me this 40cm Cassagrain dish. Will probably clean it, make proper mount and hang somewhere on the balcony.

I am more or less tuned 1,2 m Fibo dish to the arc. Can get Ku signals from 39 sats. Dreamset shows that there are > than 10000 services scanned (of course I did not check it).

Not really. However, it consumes little bit more than 2W of 12V electricity. ;)

Will try to install this antenna in the way that camera can observe as much property as possible. The movement of the dish (and camera as well) will be done by SAT-receiver or manually from the garage via positioner. Video can be watched on PC on local network, or everywhere on android phone. Also possible to make recordings. This is not really for security and guarding but more for fun..... and also to find out what kind of animals lay their sh*t in my yard.... bastards.

Played around with Frankenstein (antenna + camera), decided to separate them. Made a new holder for the motor and fixed it to flag-mast with the camera on top of it. 3 wires are coming to the camera, ethernet, coax and 220V. And antenna is back on it's place on the new holder IMG_20170323_074326 (Large).jpg
