That carpet of bluebells is very impressive.

It's not just one carpet, but every part of the hillside and valley floor for a couple of miles - Best we've ever seen and, what's more, they're English!

qv The Albino ones in the second batch.

Quite near to me, half hour drive, we have hodsock priory, it has a wood full of snow drops, i think its £5 for the privilege to view them but it gets thousands of visitors every year.

I think it was featured on tv last year. Very impressive display despite the cold spring that year, though a bit late as you would expect.

Green Hairstreak Butterfly (from a walk a couple of days ago), then Bluebells and Roast Dinners

Love the bluebell shots, many years ago one of the scout camps near here (Eggitt Wood) had a hillside that was absolutely covered in them. Breathtaking.

Absolutely nobody I have asked at the troop since then can recall where it was though, despite the president of the 'rivals' having the same name.

Excellent photo. Its amusing the way they just sit there and stare at you and watch you walk past.

It still has a bit of its winter plumage, the whitish bits will begin to dull a bit over the next few weeks.

It`s a Pyramidal bugle (Ajuga pyramidalis ) patch note the caterpillar munching away on the wild blueberry leaf to the right of the large one. Will try to get another snap when they bloom.

Somewhat quicker in the cooking pot with some onions.

This chap was oblivious to me fitting fascias and new guttering in the garden yesterday. All day him and his mate have been eating sunflower seeds, they start about 5 in the morning and end about 7pm.No wonder he looks a bit ragged!!blue tit1.jpg bluetit2.jpg bluetit3.jpg

Poor little devils do tend to look ragged when raising a clutch, they soon get back to normal afterwards though.:)

Went for a walk yesterday evening after sunset and saw a few deer and plenty of birds singing away. Didn't get any on camera but I did make an HDR of the sunset. Not the greatest quality photo but it's OK for a quick hand held shot I suppose.

The overhead power lines where really buzzing away. Just behind is a large sub-station hidden in the middle of a wood.

The buzz comes from you overloading the network with your satellite set up!

As promised Pyramidal bugle (Ajuga pyramidalis ) in full bloom, note the flowers are diminutive compared to the leaves.
