I thought you had built a positioning system using a Raspberry Pi at the beginning of the year .

No not me, only thing using a pi I setup at the beginning of the year was the weather pi, using predict and wxtoimg.

@RustySpoons is building a Positioner web interface box in his spare time, but I don’t think that was using a pi.

Turns out the camera I ordered is not compatible with my dvr :-dohand now ordered one that should be compatible.

After spending half the day swapping cameras I didn’t get the jack wired, but I did get a working camera for the dish :Y by swapping one of the other cameras while I wait for the replacement.

The C-Band lnb’s are at the 70° mark. I will get a couple more photos.

You might need a counterweight to offset the multiple LNBs sitting to one side of the boom arm.

(Then you might need another counterweight to cope with the additional weight up front)

How many lnb’s do you think I can get away with?

I will take off one of the c-band lnb’s.

Removing LNBs isn't the solution, you need to even out the weight front/rear.
Start by looking at the pivot point under the polar mount, see if you can add a solid bracket that faces rearward.

@scopus or @John is the hugesnet (18ghz) lnb l.o. Frequency 17350 or 17250?

I can’t remember, and I can’t find the bit of paper I had it written on.

Thanks.

Adjusted the polar mount and dish face a bit more today....

Now using crazy scan to try and work out what satellite the dish is pointing at.

All I know for sure is it’s well past 50°E.

I will post the scan in a minute.

Had a scary moment last night, the new positioner started chucking up er2 and wouldn’t then move the dish east.

Checked all the cables from the Positioner to the jack and using an old superjack ez-2000 positioner and the dish moves east and west with out a problem.

So I have dug out my alsat positioner that is working at the moment.

The buzzing it gives off is starting to drive me up the wall!!

Is the ASC1 Satellite Dish DiSEqC Positioner any good?

Is it worth the money?

Who is a good supplier?
