Oh yes, just remembered the coded message. You stated the elephant was made on this, and since this is your first assembly for a laminas, check the book of Genesis. 38 28 - 30!

I didn´t calculate them, I measured them!
I stated "
Just checked you pic.
A to b 1300
a to c 1230
c to b 900 "
Then advised my measurements.
It was only in jest, just happened to notice, knowing the approximate measurements, that your original picture was a near perfect 1:100 scale, so using one of these

checked your measurements of the pictured set up. ( Which has changed, for example no clamp in the original pic, now clamp at point B )

All irrelevant to the topic, just my sense of humour. Sorry

Please continue with the very important task and I am here if you need any other checks done. Even if it means you have to make a " best guess " using the average distance measured by two or three people.

Why I didn´t think of this before I don´t know.
The following pics show support arm with tape attached to dish end, first in the centre of arm, second to the edge at line of usable dish face.
I´ll let you decide the measurement to where you want it.

Dont be angry , but today by the lack of more data for the Lami , I made a CM changer with the Parabola calculations maybe @WHATAGOAL1 wants it .

R@Rimants an I used that parabola data after we first set up the 1.8 CM with the original feedarms .
At channel 12.637 H at 4.8º E the signal increaced from 9.9 to 10.8 dB .
At channel 11.766 H at 4.8º E the signal increaced from 13.9 to 14.9 dB .

With that data for the AS-1800 , the spot on the vertical bar frontside the dish is at 730 mm from the bottom!!!
Not sure the same will happen wit that Lami , I wish I had such dish here to test .

As you can see , the sidearms must be extended with 200 mm long M6 inox rod .
I decided to use the TechniRotor pole clamp to attach the mainbeam onder the dish .
Its very stable and at that way more easy to lift or lower the beam wenn neccecary .

Sorry, previous post should have been 1:10, not 1:100. All beside the point,
I have a spare here, Laminas that is, I´ll post it to you, if you wish, when you´re done, post it back. Please!

Any fool can install a Channel Master with rotating lnb, it takes an expert to install a Laminas with rotating lnb!.... Well maybe a few experts and a couple of others who wish to help out!:-ohcrap:-ohcrap:-ohcrap

I would be happy to help, but only after owners of Laminas 1,8m measure and agree between themselves on 3 measurements:
- width of the WOD (precision 1mm), distance AB;
- height of the WOD (precision 1mm), distance CD;
- depth in point where AB and CD cross each other (precision 0,1mm), distance EH.

If you send me two precision 360 laser levels and a digital micrometer, I´ll be happy to oblige! In the mean time you will have to wait for the best guess and bit of string measurements!

Just as well I´m not waiting, on account I can only afford one lnb. Just trying to help out with old fashioned tape measure and a brain, neither of which will calculate to 0.1 mm, and have doubts that all but a rare few, and maybe NASA can.

We are going around in circles here. Both me and Milamber took several measurements and several pictures of our methods. Yes, there are minor differences in figures but it's as precise as we can get. I am not sure what else we can do... we don't have laboratory level measuring equipment...

Yes, but straight distance AB is possible to measure with the precision of 1mm without any problems! But I see that @Milamber measured 1936mm and you 1930. And this is very important.

Oh come on! Be fair! I had the advantage of a second dish I could lay flat on the ground. Unless your 2.5 meters tall and have four arms and two heads, getting a measurement to within 1 mm is impossible on a mounted dish!

I can assure you it is perfectly possible and not dependent to how tall are you.
