Just testing out the Blind Scan now & it is looking good.

There is still a problem with the DiSEqC Motor control in 1.3 USALS with this receiver if I leave it on standby it works OK but if I switch receivers then I have to reset Octagon SX88 4K UHD S2 +ip via DiSEqC 1.2,

I have been testing new satellite receivers for over 25 years, so I know when a receiver is not working as it was intended,

I will live with this for now as I am still in Lockdown! So will not be going to the post office for some time as it is not getting any better here with the coronavirus

But if Octagon want to send me a new SX88 4K UHD S2 as a good will gesture as there is clearly something wrong with mine I will be very grateful.

The problem with DiSEqC has been fixed by the latest firmware? If I understand correctly, the problem was
related to motor control only, switching from multiple lnb's was not affected?
How do you rate de signal handling of the receiver? Is the sensitivity better than that of SX88?

Signal sensitivity is good on all the Octagon SX series in my collection.

No there are still issues with the DiSEqC motor if you switch the power off at the mains the motor will not move to another satellite until I go into DiSEqC 1.2 & select go to position,
Then select DiSEqC 1.3 USALS & after a bit of prompting the motor commands are restored to the SX88-4K.
If you leave the receiver on standby the motor will respond when you re-start the SX88-4K,

There is another problem that has come to light with the SX88-4K,

When I use the remote extension the light remains green on standby ?
But with the SX88+ on standby the remote extension turns to red the same as the receiver.

I see. Shame Octagon still has not fixed all DiSEqC issues. I don't use DiSEqC motor, I have fixed dishes with several lnb's connected to multi-switches. So I presume the issue would not affect me.

The SX88 4K uses a different demodulator than the SX88/SX88+, hence my curiosity about sensitivity.

The Diseqc 1.1 functionality is poor. I have ten LNB inputs and it either failed to switch between them or was very very slow. The only one that worked was KA Sat 9E (Saorsat). Also, I tried another type of Diseqc switch but it made no difference. I never had this issue with any other STB in my experience and the SX88+ worked without problems with regard to Diseqc 1,1. It seems to get stuck on LNB Input 1 (in my case 28.2 east) and then struggles to change LNB input or doesn't at all. This has to be some sort of software bug but it is an essential function to those of us who have multiple fixed LNB inputs and should not have been allowed to happen. In addition, the SX88 4K does not appear to be able to receive the Abertis DTT muxes on 30W (even in the absence of keys) as the SX88+ and its versions can - so it does not appear to be equipped to handle TLS. UHD picture quality was good but without Diseqc 1.1 functionality, it is useless to me, so I sent it back to the distributor today for a refund. Very disappointing.

I tried the Octagon Define 6.3 image on my Octagon SF8008. Woks OK but fiddly to set up the motorised settings as they are set out different to the usual Enigma 2 settings. I think the SX 88 comes with this image and it is not something I will use.

That is truly disappointing!
Since the issue still is not fixed, probably it's hardware related. I guess no one wants to risk having to return a defect box. Octagon should come clean on this.

In my experience NO and NO to the last 2 posts. I returned this receiver within a week of receiving it as it has major Diseqc issues which are still unresolved to my knowledge. I would not purchase unless these are fixed.
