Hi All. Im using freesat via a Humax HD Foxsat and quad LNB in the North West of Scotland for a couple of years with no probs, but about 6 weeks ago, I lost all my HD channels at the same time (BBC HD and C4HD), the channels display "No or bad signal" and ITV HD which I have to go to ITV London and use the red button...wont load.... all the SD channels are working fine as usual with a signal strength and quality both over 90%. Last week I updated the software but still no HD. I have 2 other freesats connected to the quad LNB but they are SD sets only so cannot use them as a reference. Can anyone here give me any idea what the prob could be. cheers

They changed the symbol rate a few weeks back.

Do a manual scan on the following frequency and settings and they will come back :D

10847 Vertical, Symbol rate 23000, FEC (Forward error correction) 8/9

Make sure the receiver is set for DVB-S2 not DVB-S when you do a scan.

I couldnt find any of the settings mentioned above on the receiver or how to access them prior to running a manual scan , so rather than mess with something I know little about I ran a Freesat Auto-scan instead and all the HD channels are back again so alls fine now. thanks for all the help. I appreciate it.

Good result - that was going to be my next suggestion.

Do you disconnect your Foxsat from the mains at night, or leave it in Standby?

The reason I ask is because "Housekeeping" takes place at 03.00 daily and if you miss it, what you experienced will, from time to time, happen.

I had the same with my Bedroom Foxsat, which is turned off at night.

Main HDR Foxsat in the Living Room stays in Standby and is always up to date.

Wow, I didnt know that, I disconnect the Humax Foxsat and TV every night, always have done, I am 56 and from the scrimp generation and just cant sleep knowing summits plugged in on stanby even though its usually freezers that burst into flames at night. I always disconnect the PC at night too and I have been having a BIOS battery recharge problem, the battery life has been shortened due to lack of overnight top up and windows wouldnt start the next morning according to the PC tech.......Got to break these "auld" habits. Thanks for the tips folks....Priceless
