If you go for the gibby its worth considering the matched feedhorn, you can use a cm. feed as well. i found on my 1m that it made a difference on the marginal channels and more stability in bad weather, although i havent measured it with a meter so dont know the figures % wise!. :)

Its certainly worth considering for a later date m8 ...but for the moment ..
Whichever dish ends up on the pole ...My Star Max SM6000 dual lnbf ...which claims to be 0.2db ...is gonna have to go up there with it .
On top of the unexpected expense of a new dish ...a new lnb and feed would almost certainly break 'piggy banks' already sagging back ..
;)
cheers

What's the actual size of the Gibby SM?

Op100 I've been told is 97cm x 114cm checked by a uk distributor. I'm unable to take a measurement of mine at this time.

Just out of pure curiosity, the ladders had to come off the van. They have got the measurement wrong.

Op100 is 97x105cm.

I can find no-one in my neck-of-the-woods selling the Gibby .....and postage ranging from the sublime to the ridiculous..
Can anyone recommend a vendor isn't going to break my stones to get one here ?
cheers m8's

Perhaps a return to Plan A (Modified) might be the easiest way ahead: Contact Triax and see if they'll provide you with the rigidity insert for the TD110 ??

Certainly it would be worth a shot ...
Problem is ..the last time I tried to contact triax ...just to ask the weight of my TD110 ...they were reluctant to answer me ...as they don't deal direct with the public ..
As ..'in their words' it clearly states on the website..
Have any of you professional guys had dealings direct with Triax ...and with what success regarding parts ?

I bought a new TD110 and a Televes 110, I didnt like the design of the Triax, it was slightly smaller than the Televes and would have been a lot more of a pain in the @rse to fit to my H-H mount. The Televes has 2 rods to support the feed arm which I like but it is a heavier dish. Gain quoted at 41.5

Ok, I came accross this photo just now, it shows clearly what the insert into the Triax TD110 AZ/EL mount looks like.

Thanks Robbo ...thats certainly a 'thingy' if ever I saw one ..

I haven't had a go at making anything to strengthen and support the AZ/EL bracket ...as I'm currently waiting to see if I get any response to my desperate plea to Triax ..
Not getting my hopes up ..but you never know ..

I've also done a very comprehensive search of the www today ...trying to find any dish supplier in the UK who can provide a TDA110 ...
Nothing -zilch -nada -zip ...
Ok if you live on mainland Europe ...but for some reason ...not the UK..
..any thoughts why this might be ?

... I also took a long hard look at an alloy 1.2 m dish made by 'FaVal' ?

anyone had any experience with them ?

certainly the weight is good ...but Im not sure mounting this at height on 18" brackets would provide enough clearance to the wall at the E & W extremes..
..then theres wind loading to consider..

here is the spec :-
