Here is 11053 H by far the most problematic.
With the SF8008 (not the Supreme version) I can get a couple of hours in the morning and the evening.
Same thing with the VU+ DUO2.

With the VU+ DUO 4K SE I can get it almost 24/7 if the weather isn't to bad.

Simultaneous scan Identical coax and length. Supreme 12129 absent at that moment but higher at another time and fine right now. This is the boxes measuring themselves though, so does it actually mean anything?
Thanks, impressive graphic.

Not got 12129 so far today but now 21.30hrs, finally secured, albeit with a high BER. the older SF8008 4k Twin tuners (Silabs si2166d) locked as attached:- pics '1', '2', '3'.

The latest Octagon SF8008 4k Twin SUPREME (Avalink AVL2X1)..........nothing!! pic '4'.

Not brilliant pic '5' but shows set up:- same dish, same quad LNB, same cable run, same salon/lounge for the two x receivers so can only assume the newer 'SUPREME' is less sensitive tuner wise!

Again, welcome other dual receivers users results.

Done, tonight but also used tuners 'A' and 'B' on both receivers, same coax......again nothing with the 'SUPREME' model!

Side note only:- the GT Combo still sits there as having a very sensitive tuner as attached, irrespective of all its apparent faults.

OK, looks conclusive.

The GTMedia Combo sensitivity is a given (though I've found the f-connector on mine has worked loose from the casing and requires soldering).

Like many of us here the sensitivity of tuners is vital. Not at home so cannot attach pics but just to say that (only after my tests and opinion) that the tuners in the newer model Octagon SF8008 4k Twin SUPREME (Avalink AVL2X1) are not as sensitive as the older SF8008 4k Twin tuners (Silabs si2166d). Alicante,España, both receivers connected to the same dish (Marrafa 1.8m PF) and LNB (Inverto Quad Flange)....... def fringe here for 28.2*e, 2F U.K. beam tranponder 12129 V 27500...........the 'Supreme' model showed pixellation whilst the older model retained full image.......12129 always a pain in the butt. Sorry for lack of pics showing dB, image etc. Perhaps others who have both models can share their findings. :Y
Hi
Please contact Octagon Directly about any problems with the SF8008 Supreme. They have known for months about problems such as the Supreme not being able to receive the advertised low symbol rate transponders and have done Nothing about it. They need to know you are Not Happy with their product and Why. Maybe they will try to fix it if enough people complain.

Is there a specification on the box confirming the supreme tuner sensitivity ?

Does 'Supreme' actually mean better ?

Hola 'CH'..........not seen an actual Octagon official tuner sensitivity spec but below is part of the spec translation from Spanish relating to the 'SUPREME'.........sensitivity not detailed as you can see but merely stating 'set new standards with an advanced tuner and demodulator for optimized reception' this was part of the full receiver build indicated on the site I bought the SF8008 from (dealt with them for many many years);-

Octagon SF8008 Supreme 4K UHD Twin S2x Receiver

Octagon SF8008 Supreme Twin incorporates a world first: the M.2 interface for the internal integration of M.2 hard drives.

The receiver with Dual OS meets all the requirements of a multimedia device and now opens up even more possibilities.

By using a new tuner and demodulator, the already high quality was further improved. Supreme models set new standards with an advanced tuner and demodulator for optimized reception, the integration of an M.2 interface for internal hard drives, permanently installed dual-band WiFi (2.4/5 GHz) with up to 1200 Mbps and Bluetooth 5.1. an innovative combination of performance and connectivity.

Then it does look as though the design parameters for the replacement are wrong.

There is a possibility the revised front end has reduced the chance of oversaturation or is better compatible with a larger range of outdoor devices, but they have missed a trick with low signal reception being worse than the predecessor(s)

Has anyone tried terrestrial performance of the Supreme against the first generation ?

The "Supreme" receiver option to use an M.2 drive is not a great advance in my personal opinion.
Although an M.2 drive can be faster than an SSD, in terms of actual use within the receiver for recording and playback I dont see any real advantage of M2 over SSD.

You usually have plugin connectors, to attach an internal hard drive.

Emailed them this morning...
Hi and a very good morning to you,
I own a Octagon SF8008 Supreme (bought just recently) beside also owning
an Octagon SF8008 4K.
What I find disappointing in the new Model (Supreme) is that the Tuner
is not as sensitive as the older
Model, especially in Low Symbol rates. I would like very much to see
some sort of updates from your side
so as to make this new Model Supreme in par with older Model as regards
Tuner sensitivity.
I know I can rely on you because you always come up with first Class
Receivers.
Thank you in advance.
Best regards to all........
And Alleluia!

for tuner, blindscan and low sybol rate issue we will realese soon new driver
br octagon
Thats word for word from them.
