sx88+ any better or dreambox or vu+

must have good pic quality
 
Try another image, I'm using OpenVix. It's also possible to install SX88 image to SF8008
 
I turned 5 minutes ago the receiver from stand by it lags insane when u try to go to another channel the more i use it the more problems it has this is a brand new box i thought i already mentioned it it happens with openpli 7.2 7.3 openatv 6.3 6.4 i had openvix to not to mention the horrible picture quality and the slowness for a quad core box the vu+zero 4k wich i have never has this problems and is faster without a doubt anyone that has this receiver return it back if it has all this problems i dont care about the problems as i said to gladstones in a pm i never watch tv i just like to do fringe reception and this box has db values and ber good to adjust the dish the tuner is the same as the vu+zero 4 k but the 4k has a little bit of advantage this box the picture breaks up later then the octagon i ordered the vu+ on 4 januari 2019 with 3 years warranty i have it for a long time and it's still like new goodluck with choosing a good receiver

Great point. I wonder if this turns it into a twin tuner sx88+ or whether it only gives access to one tuner. No harm in trying :)
 
damn it it's like i'am 90 years i always forget something i got also the linux os on my octagon twin tuner but as you probably know satellite is not working and there is no fix for it yet the single and combo version are working fine with the linux image

I'm not in front of the Octagon at the moment, but overscan is set up in the wizard, just after setting up the language preference and I think the broadband connection.

With regards to freezing momentarily, have you set any of the video parameters to NTSC (or possibly 60Hz ) ?
 
If I remember correctly some early 4k televisions only supported up to 4k30p. If that's the case then upscaled 576i50 & 1080i50 will look a bit naff. What's the model number?

seems like 4k50p & 4k60p are supported so that's not the problem :)

Yes it’s supported
Then something wrong with the receiver or poor software makes
Pic. Quality bad and software bug ( freezing )
 
Time to return it. Do you really need two tuners? Could always get 2 receivers. Just make sure they're different brands to each other.
 
Which image is currently being used ?

Without checking with another device - blue ray player - it might be something as simple as a broken HDMI cable.

Can live with one tuner for motorised system
For sky I can use LG tv tuner

The sx88+ is tried and tested. You can install the sx88+ image/operating system onto the sf8008 if you'd like to try the menus etc.

I think better to return 8008 and get 88
It’s even cheaper
