Well. ViX was just a suggestion. I like it. No major confusion of how the RCU buttons work like other images. That's my major hangup.
Like PurE2. Why reinvent the wheel? With ViX there are some quirks. Remapping buttons is relatively easy.
I like the fact that if you go to any TV retailer and try different brands out. Channel up is always that. You get my drift.
I never had nor used a usals mover. Easy? I guess. What about 'tweaks' where you need to move the dish to peak signals. And then store the setting. Or when a new satellite is put into orbit?
With diseqc it's all encoder counts. And my big dish with a linear actuator let's me hunt and store. A pita at first.
Until you get your cheat sheet out and figure out, for example. It takes 62 'counts' to move to a satellite lower in the arc that is separated 2 degrees. That's 31 pulses/degree.
Higher up in the arc. Because of the actuator mount geometry. It might take only 56 encoder pulses to move 2 degrees.
Makes feed hunting on initial setup easier. And interpolating where a satellite might be when it is active but only turns on transponders for an event.
Can the same be done with a usals mover? V-boxes abound. Some too cheap to believe there is real quality inside. And others more expensive.
Does that mean they are all clones? All of the pc boards come from one place and populated with components? Or populated someplace else and assembled. Hmmmm. I love the statement on Ali Express. "The V-Box III is the same as the II". Meaning that they used a different pad on the printer" And called it a peach?
Receiver tuner load with usals movers kind of bugs me. I've seen mods for V-boxes that supplies external power to the motor section only. Very wise. Are usals coms 2-way? Why would a receiver crash popping out a go-to command? Do they crash waiting for a reply from the mover that never is received? Bad coax? Tuner shuts down due to current overload detection, causing a crash? Is that shown in logs?
Most of this is just thoughts and statements. But feel free to chime in.
