Hi friends ..
Either there has been an almighty cockup at my end ..or there is some strange behaviour on Intelsat 10-02 at 1.0°W with ERTU
4180L

Normally this would translate as 4180H on my setup..
This morning I could get the Pentagon channel ok using vertical polarisation (R)

...but not ERTU ?
So popped outside to re-seat the dielectric plate..
put it in at the wrong angle ...and ERTU appeared..
So it looked like it had swapped polarity ...
??most confusing ..
An hour later ...and ERTU had vanished completely ...
So either there's something wrong with my installation ...or something changing with the transmission itself ..
Still no probs receiving AFN ....but it could be that the polarising voltage to the lnb is dropping low on specific channels..
Can anyone please confirm everything is as the same with the C band channels at 1W..before I go changing anything at my end.

..Hmmm ..
Mystery solved I think ..
I just performed a blind scan of Intelsat 10-02 C band ...both H and V ie L & R ...
The receiver made 2 passes ...and found only Vertical channels ....but found them twice ...
Once in V and again in H ...
So looks like either a wiring problem ...surpressing the switching voltage and preventing polarity switching ...or ....worse ....the LNBF itself has gone faulty ...and it can only now receive Vertical..
DoH!

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Is the full voltage for switching to horizontal getting to the LNB?

Hi CH ..
The fault was indeed as we both figured ...the overall voltage to arriving at the lnb was not sufficient to switch to H ..
border line ..in fact ..
Eventually traced to rain ingress on a section of cable outside associated with the Alcoa
Not surprising really ..as we have had rain every day for almost a month until this week.
